Yes, IPS panels you get get better color reproduction overall ... but not with good VA Panels, and yes, no doubts, better image in wider angles ... but are you thinking of siting down aside and watch the screen? or havin' the screen do be a "public" display where you want to see it from afar and maybe side ?

if it's mainly to see in front of the screen, why spend money on a IPS panel where we can get a great VA Panel for much less?

    IPS:
    + better color reproduction
+ better colors across wider view angles
    - refresh rates
    - response times

    VA:
    + better refresh rates
    + better contrast
    - not good view angles
    - color reproduction lower than IPS

    TN:
don't even look at those ... I have 2... do. not. buy. them.

if you want a screen for gaming without spending much: VA panels will delivery better 2 things: contrast (HDR!) and refresh rates (great for FPS games)... if you want for video/photo editing and color correction ... IPS!

Sorry, I'm not into 27'' panels ... I only did my homework with 34'' and larger.

    it's only 8 cm  higher...
    27'': 614 x 365 mm
    35'':  836 x 445 mm

Yes! the immersion in gaming plus more and more games have now Wide Screen support... is totally worth it (of course, it's all of a personal taste, and I do love it!)... try first, go to a store and check the ultra wide ones...

the LG price vs the Benq EX3501R is almost the same... (that's why I'm so keen to swap my 2 screen for it)

you also have more good ultra wide screens for the same price range

    - BenQ EX3501R (3440x1440, VA, 100Hz, 4 ms, HDMI/DP/USB-C)
    - Asus XG35VQ (3440x1440 VA, 100Hz, FreeSync, 4 ms, 2500:1, DP/2xHDMI)
    - MSI MAG341CQ (3440x1440 VA, 100hz, 4ms, 3000:1, DVI/HDMI/DP)

But remember, no matter what choice you make, it's all about YOU! it's your feeling and happiness that comes first, so, 25'', 27'' or ultra wide, it's all about your money vs what you will fell when using such monitors

I know I will only be happy with a ultra wide

Just a note, HDR10 and DisplayHDR 1000 are totally separate standards, HDR10 is not shorthand for the VESA DisplayHDR standard. HDR10 is a standard defined by the CTA, and doesn't require displays to meet the specifications it defines, so HDR10 doesn't actually mean anything in terms of HDR capability, other than the fact that the display is able to recognize HDR10 metadata.

if you are looking into that page stats, you can see that a lot of numbers are low because the screen was not correctly calibrated...
but hey ... as long as you're happy!

balexandre got a reaction from RAM555789 in Black Friday/Cyber Monday Question
@RAM555789 don't you have a website in your country that show you the prices across multiple stores, so you can see where's the cheaper one?

In Europe almost every country has such website, and they have a price history graph that you can see what were the prices every day, and going back to the last BlackFriday, the prices drop considerably ...

    Maybe you can track that

@Jordanvt45 I still think you have a good cable... but @circeseye is into something here ...

So I went and test the exact same Netflix documentary and I'll show you what they show in the 3 platforms

    Documentary: Our Planet
    Systems:
    - Livingroom 4K HDR TV (LG SK8500)
    - Windows 10 on a crappy Dell 2560x1440 TN panel - web browser (Edge Chromium)
    - Windows 10 on a crappy Dell 2560x1440 TN panel - Netflix app

    On the TV

Shows the Dolby Vision logo (the best HDR content) and when I start the film, I always get on the top right screen the format of such content, like

on the browser, Microsoft Edge (Chromium), all I get is the AD logo (Audio Description availability)

in the Netflix Windows app, I get HD (as my Dell monitor is not 4K), and Dolby Atmos (because my computer supports it) - but note that from the browser, I only would reproduce Stereo sound (no audio icon shown)

As side note, when I start Playstation4 HDR games, like Uncharted4 and The Last of Us Remastered, I see on my living room TV the content logo as well:

So, in conclusion, and just like @circeseye said, it always depends on your system/source, and in Netflix (don't know about other services) you will get the logos automatically as your system can handle.

In your case, give it a go and download the Netflix App and check how can you see.
