  1. Great choices all round. Could go for a 3300X and 5700XT, but a 3600 gives you a bit more scope for upgrading your cpu in the future (and they're a great price at the moment) Otherwise, wouldnt change anything No wonder i agree with the list...the link took me to my own list id made lol
  2. I would try a new cpu cooler then. AIO would almost certainly work. A larger air cooler would also probably be enough and would be cheaper
  3. This should fix your CPU temps. What are your GPU temps like? If they are also bad, change the case, if not an AIO at the top should work
  4. If this is the case, then your case's lack of airflow is most likely the issue. If you are unwilling to get a new case, fill it with as many case fans as possible. Then consider a larger tower cooler instead of the stock cooler. If the temperature change is this dramatic though, I would definitely suggest a new case...something like the Phanteks P300a, P400a or coolermaster NR600
  5. Generally micro atx only gives up pcie expansion slots and is a great way to save money. I would suggest looking at the MSI B550 Tomahawk or Mortar. If you want a cheap board thats still excellent for nearly all systems, I would suggest the MSI B550 pro vdh, ASRock B550m Pro 4, MSI B550 Bazooka or MSI B550 A pro
  6. so its a 9700 or a 9700K or 9700KF? For the 9700 i wouldnt bother with a new board (unless like i say you need more pcie expansion or have dangerously high VRM temps) If its a 9700K or KF, then it may be worth upgrading so you can overclock, but again, its probably not worth it. For gaming, theres not really any point upgrading your CPU.
  7. Is your CPU an unlocked K skew chip? i.e the 9700K or 9900K? If not I wouldnt bother upgrading the board unless you need extra networking connectivity or VRM temps are dangerously high
  8. Have you checked your ping whilst in game? I have nearly the exact same system as you, and my biggest issue in CS is my internet cutting out or ping spiking up because the internet at my house sucks If its not this, perhaps try reinstalling your GPU drivers
  9. SLI doesnt scale very well, and is all but pointless unless its 2x 2080Ti's. I would suggest waiting for ampere then selling the 2070S and using this money and the money for the second 2070 to get a very nice new high end card
  10. I would first suggest getting an SSD for your OS and some frequently used programs. A 240GB SATA drive for about $30 will do nicely. After that, you could upgrade to 16gb, and maybe an rx580 or 570 (could probably sell the 1050ti and buy a used 570 for the same price as nvidia card often hold their value better, even though the 1050ti is worse), however, I would suggest just saving up for a full new system ( you can keep your storage of course)
  11. Very nice. As paul and kyle would say though, get it off the floor. Maybe buy a small table so that it doesnt collect as much dust, especially with those bottom intakes

    PSU buying

550W or 650W unit such as the Corsair RMx or Coolermaster MWE Gold. If semi-modular is fine then the TXM is good and saves a few bucks
  13. Do you have links to the exact models? I would say generally a better display would outweigh a slight difference in keyboards
  14. If this is the only difference, then IPS will almost certainly be better
  15. If speed is what he wants, 7th gen oneplus is probably best. The Nord is also a good option. If he wants a great camera with acceptable speed then the Pixel 4a is good. There's also all the other Chinese brands to consider but I'm not so familiar with them. Older Samsung's like the S9 and S10 are also good options if you can find them at a good price, but software support won't generally be as good. From what i gather, all these phones have decent batteries. I would only really be concerned with products such as the pixel 4 and the iPhone SE (although both do a decent job in software to optimise battery)
  16. G14 is good. For 15.6" the XMG Core 15 (Europe) or Eluktronics RP-15 (US) are worth looking at. The HP Omen lineup may also be worth considering, but I haven't seen many in depth reviews yet
  17. I agree with @boggy77 Almost certainly not. 8700K is still one of the best gaming CPUs available. As far as motherboards, it probably isn't the best, but if it works and hopefully you can get a bit of an overclock on the CPU, then I think it would be a waste of money to upgrade it as it's now a dead platform.
  18. Would definitely suggest waiting for the new GPU launches in a couple of months. If you must buy now, get a 3900X with a 2080S or Ti if gaming is your main focus. 3900XT is a waste of money, and the 3950X is probably overkill, but if video editing is your priority, then it may be worthwhile. With this budget I would get a $200ish B550 or X570 board. Most the B550s at this price will be good, but be careful with some of the X570 -make sure to read reviews on each board. Consider the X570 Tomahawk (if available) or the X570 Tuf gaming (cheaper) if you need the extra pcie4.0 connectivity if X570. If not something like the B550 tomahawk will do nicely
  19. Would be better looking on sites like eBay and Facebook marketplace yourself. 575 (if it's pounds/dollars/euros) is a pretty decent budget anyway
  20. If it's not for gaming, the HP Envy x360 should do nicely. Can be equipped with a 4500U or 4700U which gives plenty of CPU muscle. Should also be able to configure it with 16gb and a choice of screens from 300/400/1000nit, all touchscreen. I think it's also on sale at the minute, and a manufacturer like HP will almost certainly have a back to school sale
  21. For gaming performance, I would make getting 16GB of ram and a better GPU a priority. Upgrading to ampere sounds like a good idea. ITX probably isnt the best as far as price to performance, but if you want the small form factor, go for it I guess.
  22. Looks very suspicious to me. Sticker is yellow/gold whereas the platinum certified units are whiteish colour. Also if it has "true" in the name can you really trust it. Save yourself some bother and get a reliable and tested unit from another manufacturer. Most systems dont need 700W anyway, so you can save some money there
  23. As @dizmosaid, prices will be different later in the year, so I would advise asking again then if you dont buy now. If you do buy now, heres my suggestion: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor £159.00 @ Amazon UK Motherboard ASRock B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard £74.98 @ Amazon UK Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory £60.98 @ Amazon UK Storage Kingston A400 240 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive £27.94 @ Box Limited Storage Seagate BarraCuda 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive £34.63 @ Amazon UK Video Card Sapphire Radeon RX 5600 XT 6 GB PULSE Video Card £276.36 @ Alza Case Cooler Master MasterBox NR400 (w/o ODD) MicroATX Mid Tower Case £65.47 @ Scan.co.uk Power Supply Corsair TXM Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply £69.99 @ Currys PC World Monitor AOC 24G2U/BK 24.0" 1920x1080 144 Hz Monitor £189.95 @ Amazon UK Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total £959.30 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-07-23 17:11 BST+0100 -Kept the 3600 as its so well priced. -The Pro4 may need a BIOS update to support ryzen 3000. If you want to be certain, contact the seller and ask if it ships with the new BIOS. If you have an older ryzen chip you can of course flash it yourself. If you dont want this hassle, get an MSI B450 mortar max, which is £20 more but is 3000 ready. -If you need a bit more cash to fit in the mouse and keyboard, get a 1660 super, however you will lose a bit of performance. Hope this helps
