-live wire- got a reaction from Stevers108 in Is this a good build? Any issues?
Hi, so I have a 1440p 155hz monitor, which would be great, if I could play games at that res and refresh rate. But I have an underpowered laptop that can do 1440p 60FPS medium in less demanding games like Fortnite and TABS. So I’m looking to get 1440p 155FPS at close to ultra settings in Fortnite, while streaming. It looks like I’ll need at least 1080ti and other hardware that won’t bottleneck it. So I’m looking to build a pc with these parts. I’ve watched a lot of LTT but never actually build a pc before. : )

I also want to be able to do a lot with virtualization and video editing, so a ryzen cpu seems to make the most sense.

So is this a good build for what I want to do? Are there any possible issues?

That’s what I was thinking .. I was thinking that the 2080 s will help a lot when I want to play 1440 p 144 fps, but the guy who replied above you said it’s a Waste of money

2080 super will help you a lot then. A small margin of performance above my own titan Xp, which I use for 1440p 144fps

The 2080 super is marginally more powerful than a 1080 ti, and very marginally better than a strix. Keep your current one until a 2080 ti is on the table or until the next generation swings around and you can upgrade to the next top tier.
