Edit: Ok, measured it, it's 21.5 inches, or 54.5 cm. If the clamping force is too weak for you, you could always use the rubber band mod, which is wrap a rubber band on top of the wings. Sure it looks silly, but who cares? You won't see yourself on the mirror, when playing games...

AD700 is awesome (see my avatar ), for the price range. Especially good for gaming, due to its airy feeling. That is if you can find one though, as it's discontinued already, replaced by the x series (AD700x). 
 
About head size, I don't know what my head's size, but being average Asian, I'm supposed to have smaller head size than most caucasian people, and the AD700 fits my head perfectly. It does feel a bit loose, due to it's low clamping force, but don't worry, it's not actually loose. The clamping force is low, mainly for comfortable purposes, so yeah, a few continuous hours of gaming, you wouldn't feel a thing.
