  1. Best way with minimal cost involved would be to install windows on a USB then boot off that in bios and create a network share to your laptop... but that’s a complicated way Or buy the caddy and wait, if it’s not urgent!
  2. There has been a few major windows updates recently and i would say you have become victim to a failed install 1809 build was common for this from Windows Try tapping F8 on startup and boot to safe mode to begin with I would suggest either booting from a USB with Windows GO or even remove the hard drive and recover your data, It should be perfectly safe A clean install of 10 should have the PC back up and running however that will wipe the drive obviously
  3. I have purchased MANY of these systems and even built them to similar specs When i purchase a computer with that era processor, ram, ssd ect its approx $100-150 With a GPU as a "Gaming Computer" I would sell for about $300-350 MAX The i5-750 is a very weak CPU for gaming. Fortnite would be 40Fps on Medium with low draw distance fyi
  4. The GT710 i can 100% confirm can NOT handle 4K Video, 1080P is its limit, 1440P is choppy. I have one in a spare computer in the shed and even youtube 1080 is not 60FPS
  5. Try removing the Driver through device manager and heading over to the manufacturers webpage and re downloading Fail that, Have you tried a different cable? Best bet might be just to grab either a USB - RJ45 Adaptor Or even a PCI Internal Ethernet Port, The onboard might of carked it, Ive had VERY Similar problems and it was just a pest, a different port solved all the problems, Bad co-incodence but it might of died in transit
  6. Must not be a big thing in the states, Fly in Fly out for work ? Looks like its time to start researching Custom VPN's' then! Thank you
  7. Hosting might be a bit beyond capabilities for now, Any recommended websites? Or any that anyone already uses? I have 60Mb Down and about 45Up so should be okay
  8. I have recently setup my FreeNas server and am looking for an efficient way to access it remotely Home Network i have a mix of Windows and Mac Devices Away from home i use a Mac Being a FIFO Worker when studying it makes it easier than having to carry round portable hard drives and would be great to be able to access away from home Im open to Subscription based VPN's if that would be a better option but i dont know where to start, i have had a bit of a read at PPTP VPN's but every website seems to just chase your Credit Card info before they give you a rundown... Any help would be appreciated
  9. If its important data, And you have redundant backup systems in place in regards to using FreeNas like you mentioned, Whats the problem? For two drives to simulatiously fail even in a single disk Mirror setup would be astronomically bad luck
  10. Still doesnt change that your harddrive is most likely on the way out if its throwing SMART Failure warnings I taped the fuel gauge on my car at Full, Do i have a full tank of fuel again?

    PC is too loud

Generally loud for a reason, Lowering the fan may simply cause damage too the GPU and end up destroying it if no Thermal Shutoff Add more low speed fans or try pulling the side off your case to see if the fan still comes on as loudly
  12. Agreed, Might have some bad sectors on ram, Grab a usb and download Memtest86!

  14. Friends and Family tend to take advantage very quickly, If selling them a computer that i put together for cheap i normally charge a little on top to cover the guaranteed "Öh this stopped working" and always the typical i didnt touch it $30-40 an hour AUD is a cheap rate here in AUS
