  1. I'm a big fan of single player cinematic games (I usually play PC games on my 4K TV with HDR). I want splash out and get RTX 4080 so I can run AAA at max settings with all the fancy light settings cranked to max (for the next 3 years or so). My current card is a 2080 super, turning on RTX absolutely kills the frame rate in recent games. My question is i7-8700K going to prevent me from getting the most out of a RTX 4080 consider it only as 6 cores and recent CPUs all seem to have 16 or 24? Also if you do recommend CPU upgrade which one and will I need a motherboard upgrade?
  2. I am after recommendations for a quality wireless number pad with mechanical switches. So far I have 2 and all both feel like mush (even though they said mechanical switches on the box). I have spent hours looking but everything that comes up looks like cheap garbage. I have a Logitech G915 TKL GL Linear keyboard and I love it. I love how it feels to type, way better than my old Corsair K90. I love how compact it, my K90 use to take up far to much space on my desk. I also I have good set up so I can use my PC from the couch so sticking with the TKL is non-negotiable. The issue is about once a week I need to do some spreadsheet work at home, I wanted good wireless number pad I could pull when I needed it. At this point I am on the verge of giving up and getting a full size G915 and switching them out as needed. This is a stupidly expensive option both G915 and G915 TLK are $400 keyboards in NZ where I live.
  3. I want to create 2 independent private home networks and share a single fiber internet connection. My ONT (box fiber comes from) has multiple LAN ports, would it be as simple as buying a 2nd router and plugging it directly into the ONT.
  4. With the GPU shortage people are going to be unable to upgrade for some time, many people are going to have RTX 20 series cards and 4K 120Hz capable. There are active adapters from DP 1.4 to HMDI 2.1 (see link below) but no information on the latency anywhere which is absolutely critical if you want to game. Is type C to HDMI 2.1 possible for 4K 120Hz, again what would the latency be like? https://www.amazon.com/Club-3D-DisplayPort1-4-Adapter-CAC-1085/dp/B08BX49V5V These adapters are expensive more so if you live outside of the US once the currency conversion and shipping, it would be really useful to know how they work. Also in another or the same video it would be useful to test the latency of running HDMI 2.1 though Ethernet for longer runs. In my personnel set up I have a 2080 super, 4K TV with HDMI 2.1 and existing Cat 6 ethernet cables in the wall, I would like to convert DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 to ethernet with negligible latency, is this possible? Also latency
  5. In New Zealand the normal retail price for a RTX 2080 was around NZ$1300 (US$880) before the RTX 3080 was announced. The RTX 3080 by major NZ tech stores average is about NZ$1600 (UD$1080). Both cards retail for NZ$1033 (US$699). Why the hell is this bullshit the case?
  6. Better yet, if you want a series of videos build THE MOST HIGH TECH TINY HOUSE EVER!!!!
  7. I love the idea of building a off grid tiny house, one of problems is I love to game and would hate to go without a full desktop. Find someone building a off grid tiny house who wants serious gaming rig and do a video designing and integrating one for them. 1440p modern games at max settings, quiet, fully mechanical keyboard, plenty of mouse space. Lots of challenges, trying to take up the lease space possible, making more space when the computer isn't in use. You also want to be as power efficient as possible to give the option to run on off grid solar. I reckon it would be cool idea to build pc into the house no case. Absolutely no laptops that's cheating.
  8. I have a EVGA 650w should be plenty of power. Graphics card has all the slots are plugged in. All the squares and rounded bits matched. (3+4) CPU power has a 2+2 the first one the patterns match the 2nd one they don't, I looked on line and it said only the 1st is required the 2nd is for extreme overclocking. I have tried just plugging in the first and tried having both plugged in, same result.
  9. I have now (can't believe I forgot that). No change.
  10. Spec list: Power: EVGA 650 GD, 100-GD-650Processor: i7-6700 3.4GHz LGA1151 SR2BTGraphics: Gigabyte GTX 980RAM: Hyperx Furry DDR4 2133MHzMotherboard: Gigabyte Aorus H370 LGA1151
  11. I had a issue with my PC losing power, I found spots of corrsion on the motherboard and the outside of the PSU. I ordered a new case, motherboard and PSU. I have all the new bits, put it together and when I hit power it turns on for a few seconds then turns off, after a second it then turns back on the whole process repeats. I noticed some red LEDs on the motherboard first the CPU light flash's red for 0.5-1 sec then the goes off, then DRAM light goes for about 2 sec then it goes off then the vga light goes on for a instant before the whole thing powers off. I have 2 sticks of RAM I have tried running with both sticks individually in all slots. I live in a small town and don't have anyone to borrow parts off for testing. Really don't want to fork out for a new GPU or CPU without being fairly certain the old one is buggered. Motherboard is H370 Aorus Please help?! Anything else I could try?
