  1. I second that. You can use a Ubiquiti AP to tether wirelessly to another Ubiquiti AP (to act sort of like a repeater) and still get decent speeds in both 2GHz and 5GHz bands. It is really worth the effort. So basically you'd need a "cloud key" + 2x "AP AC PRO" (+ two available Ethernet ports on your router: one for Cloud Key, second port for one of the access points).
  2. Telus website is quite bad indeed, which is quite unfortunate...
  3. Looks like either the replacement fan is faulty, wrong P/N, or not fully plugged in.
  4. Are you able to login into ILO? I'd check ILO logs before trying anything else.
  5. Before doing anything else I'd try a different cable + different port on the router (and the PC if it has an extra port).
  6. I personally haven't used it but it appears to be a very decent tool for the purpose. What I like about it is that it will automatically trim excess wire when used with those fancy 'wire pass-through' connectors (otherwise you'd need to cut them off with something like a box cutter, which is a nuisance).
  7. This sucks. I'd try a few things: 1) Looks like you have ipv6 enabled. I'd try disabling it and see if that helps. IPv6 routing overall still sucks compared to IPv4... Though it should not make such a big impact. 2) Plug in a PC directly into the ONT and retest (to rule out issues caused by a faulty router etc) 3) Then I'd pick another PC + different LAN cable and do the same (to rule out issues caused by faulty NIC as well as LAN cable) If results are same, then I'd try talking to Telus, or... switch to Shaw.
  8. Right now I am getting 820 Mbps down / 660 Mbps up on Telus, never saw any slowdowns even during peak hours. Are you on fiber? What do you use to test the speed? Can you try testing with fast.com? (after download test completes, click 'Show more info' for Upload test)
  9. To address your specific question, you can use IP address of either port, both will work equally well for forwarded traffic. Unless you have some load balancing configured in place, you are not achieving anything by connecting two LAN ports to your router. I'd disconnect one.
  10. The best long term solution to this is to use github or similar approach. My second preference would be Dropbox (or Seafile for self-hosted) VPN will work, though network shares over VPN can be quite slow; if your project is large it may be an issue. Also when VPN drops and you try to save a file at the same time you may run into some unpleasant situations.
  11. mynameisjuan above was correct; the cap is installed the wrong way. Regardless, the viable options at this point are to re-terminate, or install keystone wall jacks as Acedia mentioned above.
  12. I've been to a few homes and I am yet to see a proper termination done by 'professionals'. Be thankful if they didn't wreck your new wires with their powerful staple guns lol. You need cat6 RJ45 connectors: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=rj45+connector+cat6&ref=nb_sb_noss_2 I highly recommend these ones as they're a lot easier to work with due to special design: https://www.amazon.com/ITBEBE-Plated-Through-premium-Connectors/dp/B07451LPHR/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=ITBEBE+Gold+Plated+RJ45+CAT6+8P8C&qid=1554414943&s=gateway&sr=8-3 And a tool: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=rj45+crimp+tool&i=tools&ref=nb_sb_noss_1
  13. @mynameisjuan meant you do indeed have incorrect termination, you will need to re-terminate (re-crimp) cables. Just take a cable that works and terminate yours likewise.
  14. I'd check if cables were terminated (crimped) correctly on both ends. Also, are there any splices?
  15. You will need PRO on your main PC, but on your portable computer you can have pretty much any version of Windows (remote desktop client is included with any Windows). If your main PC comes with Home, try Team Viewer, or indeed Steam (as @burnttoastnice suggested above).
