  1. Can recommend this paste, too. It should do a decent job and isn't that expensive.
  2. Kickstart it! I would contribute at least 5$. I love scrapyard wars. Would be even better to let them go to another country and have a rule that forbids shipping at all. Would be hilarous to see them struggling to get parts by talking with natives who aren't fluent in english. "Can you build a pc in your vacation overseas? Let's find out!"
  3. I did that with my ssd a few months ago. At first I let steam make a folder on my ssd. I was lazy and just let it install a very tiny game. Then I copied the game I wanted on the ssd from the hdd to the steam folder (steamapps). Then you deinstall the game in steam and reinstall it on the ssd. Since the data is already there steam just checks the data very quickly and won't download anything. And you're done. edit: Steam will make a steam folder itself on the new drive which contains more than just the steamapps folder. Just copying the steamapps folder won't do.
  4. Since all the debate about article 13 in the eu is making vpn services important for eu citizens because of the fear of geo blocking, how about a video of "How to set up your own private VPN on a server you rent somewhere in the world"? Perhaps that's something Anthony could help with! Could be fun and informative.
  5. My biggest concern is geo blocking. In order to not provide these new rules on their own sites, it could be possible that many websites instead just geo block EU-citizens. Well, we could avoid this with a vpn connection but that's just dumb. I wish I'd live in canada or somewhere else where the government shares the best of europes systems like free health care. Who knows, maybe Linus does need a programmer to make his own game where you get points if you drop expensive hardware? >>Just message me<<
  6. You somewhat can do that but I won't recommend it since you won't get dual-channel performance on the 4GB on the 8GB Sticks that are over the top. You'll need to check if your chipset supports Flex Mode, and if those RAM sticks have a matching number of chips per side and matching size of rows and columns. tl:dr - You won't get Dual-channel performance this way as far as I know.
  7. As craigslist is something nearly nobody is using in europe / germany, a video about ebay is nice.
  8. Check Memory of your Ram, Check Memory of your GPU if it's compatible to any memtest (like OpenCL 1.2). If you can exclude your hardware as a problem, as well as drivers like you did, the problem isn't on your side. I'm hearing from friends that they also have issues with The Division 2 but their Rig runs fine with most other games like BF5.
  9. I do enjoy the content with Anthony. Hope LMG could manage to do more content with him in the videos. edit: Well, not to replace Linus, I just think they add up together to a very great value of entertainment.
  10. Thanks again. I finally met with my dad, let him play a bit and got him back to gaming! Currently he is playing Wolfenstein 2 with Prey and CS:GO waiting for him to finish his singleplayer onslaught. Sadly he wasn't a fan of contract wars but he liked CS:GO. And he wants to get his hands onto DOOM Eternal as soon as it comes out. While we were playing a bit and chatting, he mentioned how much he hates the microtransactions in quake champions or other games he tried he didn't even mentioned to me before hand. Just as Gareque was implying, he didn't feel like the changes of the gaming market would fit his expectations on how games should look like or what kind of service they should provide. I think it's hard to let go of something, even a standard, if you were so used to it. I hope his reflexes and hand-eye coordination will get better soon and we can have some fun together in Doom Eternals multiplayer.
  11. Hello everyone! I created this post to discuss if a 55" Inches smart TV can be used as a pc monitor if you lack budget to get a better suited gaming monitor with Displayport and better reaction time as well as more Hz. So I was talking to a friend who bought parts to build a new pc. If you are interested, or this may come handy as information for the topic, this is his build: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 MB: MSI B450 Gaming Plus RAM: 16GB DDR4 3000 G.Skill Aegis (2x 8GB) GPU: 6GB KFA2 RTX 2060 PSU: 500W be quiet! Pure Power 11 After his purchase, he hasn't had enough money to get a new monitor, too. He just had a Samsung SyncMaster P2250(g), etc with DVI. But, he has a Smart-TV that he isn't using currently. It's a Thomson 55UD6306 (55"). It features: HDMI: 3 x 2.0b HDCP 2.2: Alle HDMI USB: 2 x 2.0 3.840x2.160 Pxl meaning 2160p/60Hz 12bit He was now wondering if he could use this smart-TV to play games on his new build. I somewhat thought about he could just buy 2 HDMI 2.0 cables and one HDMI 2.0 Adapter to DVI output in order to maybe use his smart-TV and his older monitor as a second screen. He want's to play at 1440p, which should be possible but just at 60Hz I guess. Is that so much worse than a gaming monitor or can the 60Hz turn into a pool of errors with ghosting in games or a bad look? Does anyone play on a big smart-TV and wants to share his/her experience with it? I for myself had a 1080p Tv a few years back hooked up to my pc at 60Hz and always felt like there often occurs screen tearing and problems with hardware accelleration in different apps like a web browser. Does this still occurs over HDMI 2.0? I would really appreciate good advice and thank you for reading! tl:dr-> "Is a smart-TV as a pc monitor still not good in 2018/2019 models?"
  12. Thank you. I think Wolfenstein 2 new colossus could be a game he would play (even if just once because it has no multiplayer) and prey sounds great, too. I can remember he played the old wolfenstein games (return to castle wolfenstein), I don't know if it's the same brand, though. It's 19,99 and in stock in a shop arround the corner, I think this would be a great game to get him back into gaming. Doom Eternal could be great, I read some articles about the game. He liked the last Doom, too. Do you know if Prey is like the first game with the same title or is it different, he played the old one as far as I know and somewhat liked it. I really appreciate the time you spend for the recommendation. Even with the market having changed over the years, somewhere has to be a place for older gamers like my dad.
  13. I have bought some games from g2a in the past. I encountered 3 types of how your purchase can go: 1. You buy a game with the g2a shield (costs more) and you are guaranteed to get a game-key. This has always worked. 2. You buy a game without the g2a shield and get an already used / not valid / other game - key. This happens quite often if you don't buy from a big seller on that platform 3. Same as above but you actually get the key, which often isn't the case. In terms of account usage on g2a, there was a controversy about g2a taking dollars of your g2a wallet if you don't log in regulary. You can buy games without an account, though. I would recommend cdkeys instead, never had a problem buying keys there.
  14. I have looked into Ranbow Six Siege, played CS:GO on the pc of my roommate and looked into contract wars. Rainbow Six Siege will be too hard for my dad to get into. CS:GO could be a great choice for my dad, I don't know what he thinks of the more realistic damage weapons deal and how fast you die (compared to UT). Since it is F2P he can test it himself and see if he likes it. And I am currently downloading contract wars to look into it. (Since it's f2p, why not give it a try instead of watching videos?) Is anyone playing DOOM (2016) Multiplayer and knows if it's still played by a good amount of people? Or does someone know how DOOM Eternal will be in terms of multiplayer? I just found information about Darksouls like invasion in its campaign. So far, thank you for the recommendations.
  15. Thank you for the fast answers! Wrath: Aeon of ruin looks great, I will look into it. Would be great if it has multiplayer/coop. CS:Go and Rainbow Six siege could be too complicated for him, I will have a look at them.
