  1. If Apple is allowed to do this, what prevents AMD and Intel from coming up with a new standard connection for gpus? I mean if Apple can tell what parts people can use with their products, why couldnt amd and intel do the same? Are they just so nice that let nVidia roam and dominate on their platforms?
  2. Aah I did a quick google search and looked at 2411p You will need to use dual-link dvi for high refresh rate. Either buy an active adapter(expensive and hard to find reliable ones), swap to a card that has dvi-dl or swap the monitor.
  3. Use display port. That monitor might not support 144Hz from hdmi.
  4. Well on pc you should aim for vrr-range fps. I think it usually starts on 35-40Hz. It will be a lot better as vsync adds 1-2 frame delay because of the buffer, and with low 30 fps that is 33ms or 66ms.
  5. I would wait till someone really reviews it. Runs fans 600,800,1000,1200,1500,2000rpm so you can see if its quiet or just quieter than other small towers. I still rock a 7 year old Macho with max 900rpm
  6. Noctua fans do vibrate a bit. You can see why if you spin shut off one with finger as it wont turn smoothly but in segments. Never had any trouble from the vibration though but some new cases are flimsy and I can see potential trouble with resonance.
  7. Deskmini a300 and a usb-->optical audio adapter. You can get it out from hdmi too with an adapter.
  8. If they did not everyone would use banana state proxy to upload Marvel movies etc. I really cant understand why people who create content are so scared about this. Internet will still be more free in EU than USA if this passes.
  9. Install drivers again after removing all old ones in safe mode with DDU.
  10. Pretty much all custom Vegas come with decent coolers. And with a bit of tweaking most should run under 200W without crippling performance. I have the Gigabyte OC one and its relatively quiet in small atx(under 30l) case with not so optimal airflow. 1800rpm, under 70c with 1490MHz and 950mV. Some manufacturers did push out rtx 2060:s with those bad block coolers. At least Gigabyte and KFA2 had those. Although apparently gigabyte fixed it quietly to rev2.0 version of the card. These kind of coolers are bad on 1660:s and horrible on 2060:s.
  11. By that logic no one ever has had a reason to lie about anything. Blind faith in advertisement speech leads to stuff like that blood testing company.
  12. Apple is not exactly open source either. Could mine just as much data for NSA etc. The whole encryption lawsuit vs Apple looks like a well orchestrated honey trap for retarded criminals.
  13. In most cases tower coolers act almost like an aio as the exhaust fans are so close. So mostly wasting your money vs a decent air cooler. With a gpu its a bit different situation because of how the gpu boost works and most air coolers dump heat in to the case farther away from exhaust fans.
  14. It does absolutely nothing to the noise that moving air makes. Even the cheap 5€ fans nowadays are not loud on low rpms, and if you want a queit pc you wont run fans over 1000rpm. Silence geeks wont go over 600-800rpm.
  15. Almost silly to waste a lot of money to rgb and put a weaker gpu in. I would even consider going for r5 2600 and an rtx 2080 instead.
  16. All games ran like 100fps avg Thats more than 200% increase to what most people game on. I might pay 200-300€ to get fps from 60 to 100, but would not spend even half of that for 100 to 120-144.
  17. If you can have a cheap Asus Vega 56 strix with the 6 game bundle, and you like those games you should check it out.
  18. Did the pc go to sleep? Or is it just the monitor? Next time you face this, try re-plugging the display power cord if it has no "hard" switch on it. Display port is a real piece of shit sometimes.
  19. Its hard to see what happens on that video. Did it do that while it was on or on startup? If its on start up and no picture it could be the same thing with monitor that I had. Pc booted up just fine and picture was showing on tv but I was not smart enough to check it before wasting an hour
  20. My pc sometimes lost dp-connected monitor with the fast start up on. Had to always use the real on/off rocker switch on monitor to get it to recognize it.
  21. Win 10 fast start up on or off? Turn it off and see if it helps.
  22. Ok so voltage/current protections wont kick in and save your other parts if psu gets too hot? I was trying to make a point that a top tier psu lacking in otp and with a loud fan in a hotbox, is likely to be better and last longer in use than a cheap budget model with otp, lower rated caps and a quiet fan in hotbox. And with a cheap budget model you are more likely to need any of those protection features? Or do the higher midtier(rmx) ones break down just as much as the budget lineup(cx) and have a higher price to cover the longer warranty(and parts)? I know I'm probably basing my hatred on Chinese brands on stuff that happened in early 2000:s or problems with counterfeit parts. But the fact that no large manufacturer is willing to give 10 year warranty to psu:s made solely using Chinese branded caps makes me think there is a known quality difference there.
  23. I was under the impression there are other protections too. Wont one of those kick in?
