  1. Thought I already said, sorry. Currently running an 10100
  2. Helping a friend upgrade the pc I built for him wanted your guys' thoughts. Hes currently running a gigabyte b460 hd3, 16 gigs crucial ballistix 3200, and an Asus pheonix 1650 oc edition. He was looking at upgrading to a bundled 10600k and an Asus prime b460-a for $380. That's a little redundant but it would allow proper support for the rgb fans he picked up instead of using a button hanging out the back of his case. I was thinking maybe ryzen 5600 but that would cost a but more. What are you guys thoughts? Budget (including currency): Country: Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):
  3. sorry i mispoke. im mixing up multiple builds haha, i ordered a gigabyte b460 hd3.
  4. I talked to the friend and he decided to up the budget. We went with a ryzen 5 3600, a gigabyte a520i, (last minute opted for the 10100 and a msi b450m pro), evga 650 n1, crucial balistix 3200, and an adata su635. We will pick up the gpu when possible.
  5. I'm doing a build for a friend. I'm waiting to order parts until after ces because I'm hoping to see cpu and gpu prices fall a bit after we see new announcements but for the next 40 or so hours the motherboard is $40 off so if you think I'll save more bu not waiting let me know. I'm hoping to cut the cost a but. As of now I'm looking at just over $770 even though I was targeting 600. If possible I'd really like to get the cost below 700 dollars and im not opposed to getting a used cpu and gpu. The build will be in this off brand Amazon case As of now I'm thinking to use a core i3 10100, 16 gigs ddr4 crucial ballistics 3200, these amazon rgb fans, an adata 480 gig SATA ssd, an asrock z490 pro, a gtx 1660, and evga 650 n1 Budget ($600-700): Country: us Games: Minecraft with mods, the forest, rust, apex, and some others.
  6. Is windows still installed on the drive and just inaccesible?
  7. Try disabling all boot options but your ssd.
  8. Go into your bios ans set your ssd to your first option for booting from.
  9. One gig is higher than average but chrome is notorious for hogging ram
  10. Some bios' provide the option to cap network speed. Check and see if you have an option like this enabled.
  11. Your referring to cpu cores correct? The 6600k only has four cores.
  12. You must be mistaken. The 6600k only has 4 cores. Here's a spec sheet. https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/88191/intel-core-i5-6600k-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3-90-ghz.html
