  1. kind of where I am leaning as well thank you
  2. Well neither of my options will cost me more money so I am confused with your reply?
  3. Current config: ROG Strix B450F MB | Ryzen 7 2700x | GTX 1070ti | G.Skill 32gb (4x 8gb) 3000mhz ram. Use: Gaming and some light video editing So I have been having a problem where my 3000mhz ram is only running at 2400mhz. I came to realize that I failed to follow the compatibility chart and the ram I used is only compatible with my system in a 2 stick configuration. I don't really feel like throwing more money at the situation so my options are to leave it or reduce to 2 sticks. So what would be a better option for my usage stated above, 32gb @2400mhz or 16gb @3000mhz? Let me also add that the machine runs great and I am experiencing no ill effects at the moment. Thanks in advance for sharing your insights!
  4. Its possible I suppose I need to watch some videos and learn how to do that. I am still green behind the ears with this stuff. I am off to bed for a late shift but will I will try and tackle that one tomorrow and let you know my results. Thanks for the suggestion ????
  5. I am under the impression that D.O.C.P. is AMD's version for XMP files and is what I thought I was doing in picture 3.
  6. Hello all, I need some help with my memory speed please. I have 3000mhz memory yet everywhere it tells me its 2132mhz. From the attached pictures you can see I have tried leaving AI Overclock Tuner in auto and also tried enabling D.O.C.P and selecting the proper config for my ram. Either option after a save and reboot results in the same BIOS Hardware Monitor and CPU-Z results of 2132mhz. Can anyone point me in the right direction? CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x MOBO: ROG Strix B450-F RAM: G.Skill Trident RGB 3000mhz 32gb (8x4)
  7. Problem resolved I started messing around in the BIOS with different boot settings until I got it to work.
  8. Well I am in research mode and moving towards it. I am literally working the dual boot option but came across some issues installing the second drive. See here lol
  9. I hate Windows and hope to one day be brave enough to make the move. My fear at the moment is spending hours on work arounds and jury rigging when my game time is already very limited.
  10. Maybe some fresh eyes will see this I am still stuck :-(
  11. I have a spare HDD from a laptop lying around and want to install it in my desktop in addition to the 1 SSD I have in there already. The problem is once I connect the drive and try to boot I boot right into blue screen. Disconnect the HDD and it boots fine. Don't cringe but I even tried a hot install of the drive once machine was up and running and it blue screened as soon as I connected it. Take that HDD and plug it into USB port via an adapter and it reads as a perfectly fine NTFS formatted blank drive. I already tried a different SATA jack on my MOBO. I am out of ideas but I suspect some of you more knowledgeable people may lead me into settings in the bios but its beyond my skill to mess around in there too much without a good guide. Any help would be appreciated....... 12. Follow this guide and let me know if it solves your problem. https://www.macobserver.com/tips/quick-tip/icloud-turning-off-desktop-and-documents-syncing/
  13. Ok not knowing your exact push/pull setup of your fans I made an example for you to think about. This is something that could be happening to you, notice the airflow and how no ambient air makes it to GPU and hot air from radiator is blowing across it. It may not be accurate to your specific situation but I suspect its something along these lines. Please excuse my terrible art lol
  14. Yea nothing is perfect but I have never had the issue you are having but I did have the issue where my iMac, MacBook, iPhone, and PC iCloud app were all storing everything uploaded into iCloud on my local HD on all my machines too except the phone. This happened after an update also. I had to set my setting to not auto downloads my iCloud pics, docs, ect... to my local drive. “Just stay in the cloud till I say so okay !” Maybe this helps you also.
  15. No not windows backup I dont use that. I create a system disk image, a picture if you will of my hard drive. Any issues or when I want to set things back to fresh begining I apply the image and it makes everything exactly the way it was when I took that image. I found it much more reliable than other backup methods but it is not real-time backup so if your image is 6 months old everything after that is gone. Now back to what i was originally asking to clarify either the Windows built in image creator or a 3rd part app one names the folder the image sits in on your backup HD. I was just curious if renaming those folders had any ill effects when reapplying the image.
