  1. Save a few $$ and you can grab a Thermalright Peerless Assassin, Frost Commander or Fuma 3.
  2. No longer being supported or updated? Can't someone just copy pasta the updated version from his own forum to this one?
  3. I hear the tide is turning on this however. Didn't LTT do a video on gaming with Linux using proton layer and such?
  4. I have a fairly decent setup with a 5800X and a RTX 3060ti and I'm starting to get the itch to move it over to Linux. I'm leaning towards something Arch based being that it has the best support for proton. I'm somewhat Linux savvy. My main laptop at home has run KDE Neon for about 3 years. What are some "good to know's"? Is Linux only good for steam games? What about older games or games from other launchers like Epic and Ubisoft?
  5. Lack of reviews on the EVGA so far. It's HEC made where the TX is Great Wall. TX has lackluster ripple, hold up time and transient. So in other words, hard to say.
  6. Should the Cooler Master V2 750w Be in Gold color on the A tier? It's one of the best reviews I've read in a while on a 750w unit. The thing is near flawless. Or does the Blue color supersede the Gold color?
  7. The CM had a really strong showing coming from a lesser known OEM. If it's cheaper, I'd go CM no question.
  8. That recent GN video was a bronze CM I thought. Edit: Stumbled on this gem from JG himself... https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/recommended-psu-to-buy.3603290/post-21736677
  9. This PSU section needs a sticky for recommended low end power supply's for penny pinchers and tight budgets. Obviously we'd all love to pony up for A or B tier units but the reality is that some A) don't need that for 750ti/Core i3 based systems and B) have really restrictive budgets. Just a handfull of $30-50 units that aren't group regulated and have the usual protections built in with 3 year warranty's etc. Below avg ripple, load regulation and sleeve bearing fans be damned.
  10. What is the rest of the system? Quality 450-550w unit should be fine for a RTX 3060. Out of the three you listed the CX550 is probably the best unit, hence the more expensive price for 100w less.

CX650 made by CWT and Great Wall, read above review.

Corsair's CX line is made by two manufacturers, Channel Well Technology and Great Wall. Both are good OEMs with solid manufacturing lines.

The title of the thread is "Is this Corsair CX550 good?" and I asked a question directly related to the CX550 so how do you come up with "completely unrelated"???

  12. Is this still CWT or Greatwall made? https://www.newegg.com/corsair-cx-series-cx550-550w/p/N82E16817139202
  13. What format is the flash drive. If it's not it should be FAT32 but NTFS may work. Also, make sure the BIOS file is extracted and on the root of the drive and try to use a USB 2.0 port in the motherboard. I just tried downloading the most recent BIOS for your board and it 100% downloads as a ZIP
