  1. I'd keep the i7 2600, that Gigabyte GA-HA65M-D3H0B3 and the crucial 2 x 8GB kit until you have money for a ryzen system, after that it'll make a nice little home server, especially with all that storage, altho I wouldn't put any important data without backup on there, cause they might fail soon and the odds are only getting worse, except for the SSDs they might be good for some more time.
  2. seems just like a slow system, I have that on my laptop from work (i5 6200U), haven't found a fix yet
  3. enlighten me, that chiip came out when I was 6
  4. a 9900k is a firehouse and it sounds about right for the inferno that chip is
  5. They are both second gen and if price doesnt matter I will recommend a ryzen 5 3600 and a msi b450 tomahawk max, otherwise, the 2600 will be suitable for longer because of its hyperthreading support.
  6. If you press advanced option and just go through the menu you should find a restart button, which should disable the windows recovery mode.
  7. I loked at the specifications on acers website and they didn't mention g sync in any way, which is a i selling point so they'd advertise it
  8. for 1000 £ a prebuilt with overkill 2 1080s and a 7700k, doesn't sound too bad from the value itbrings but the configuration is horrible, a 2070 super or not super and a 8700k/ryzen 5 3600 makes way more sense than 2 1080s and a 4core processor especially because modern games and render engines use more and more cores, so the cpu won't hold you for very long
  9. Considering what @dizmosaid ans my conclusion, unless you have an amd gpu and you want it to stay that way, Dell is the way to go
  10. The dell appearently has gsync support whereas the acer does not, the dell can be overclocked to 120Hz (according to dell) the acer is running 120Hz outta the box (according to the product page). after all it's a point in, do you think you can reach over 120Hz in basically every game because it might look a bit choppy on the acer, altho I doubt it. Taking the decision off you is really hard and you just need to go for one of them. The decision might also depend on your current rig and if you plan to upgrade in the near future
  11. usually in the motherboard bios, there should be an option to adjust the cpu fan curve
  12. well, its running 5Ghz its still really hot tho
  13. I'd say 80 sounds about right considering my 9900k runs at up to 90c under synthetic load with a 360 thick rad from ek for it alone
  14. I guess dual gpus for gaming will die with nvidia ampere
  15. Seems like a balanced build for 1080p 60fps (in esports titles 120)
  16. Just for overkill sakes, I totally get that; 9900k @5Ghz here
  17. Sorry if I‘m rude but I had to say it: SLI in 2020 lmao
  18. I highly doubt you‘d get really good performace in a game running that config on any thing less than a really high end card, idk what fps you were playing at with your 2x3 dell ultrasharps but I doubt it was anywhere near 60 in a reasonable new game
  19. The advertised 4400mHz is a maximum value with a really well binned cpu, ram and board. I think you should increase the DRAM voltage as a first step
  20. The be quiet dark rock tf is only 120mm tall, but low profile is something else... it's pretty good tho
  21. Unfortunately from what you‘ve said all I can think of is either not enough voltage, try increasing that without adjusting anything else like clock or timings... Otherwise I‘d say weird memory controller error or a faulty motherboard, I‘d rather say memory controller, cause all slots work as you‘ve already described if you can borrow another ryzen 1st or 2nd gen, try those and see if they pass in dual channel. Same goes for the mobo and your cpu
  22. That really depends on the price point, but yes intel still gives you that fps boost from 300 to 330fps in games like csgo , but thats just in esports titles at low res and who the hell buys that 300Hz screen from ASUS and NVIDIA...
  23. I'm running 1440p 144Hz with a 1080 and for that I'd recommend at least that 2070 super that @lopj245already mentioned
