  1. Yeah, really insane. I have a 1Gbit/s down, 700Mbit/s up for 40€, I think I'll switch to that new Freebox pretty soon. That seems like a really good deal. Yeah if you are living alone, or only using one computer at a time sure, but once you share the connection with multiple people or using multiple computer/device at a time or else, then it starts to be interesting.
  2. Hi, I guess this is a mainly English forum, but I think this might be worth talking about. Free, a French ISP just announced their new Freebox Ultra, a 50€ a month (for a year, then 60€) option with the following: The router part: Qualcomm Networking Pro 820 chip 8Gbit/s up - 8Gbit/s down 2 SFP 10G ports (One in for plugging in the Fiber connexion from the wall, and the other for using it with a Switch or another router) 4 2.5G Ethernet ports WiFi 7 MU-MIMO Quad Band (2.4GHz 2x2 + 5GHz down 2x2 + 5GHz up 2x2 + 6GHz 2x2 NVMe 2280 Gen 3 slot in the router to be used as a NAS USB-C power connector Including WiFi 7 mesh repeater And the TV part, a 4K player: 280 TV channel including Canal (basically French cable TV) Every match of the League 1 Uber Eats Oqee Ciné (500 movies and TV shows) Cafeyn Netflix (Standard option with ads, if you want to upgrade to a higher tier, you just pay the difference) Amazon Prime (Prime, Prime Video, Prime Music and Prime Gaming) Disney+ (Standard option with ads, if you want to upgrade to a higher tier, you just pay the difference) Universal+ + Pocket WiFi hotspot access point All of that for 50 bucks a month, and you can also get up to 4 unlimited mobile plan for 9€ a month (really unlimited, not capped, one of my friend already downloaded 2TB in a month with his unlimited Free Mobile plan, the speed didn't slowed down and he did not get charged for what he used beside the 9 bucks a month) They talked about all the service they included, it cost 84€ a month + about 58€ a month for equivalent Fiber option by the competition, so 142€/month, but you get all of that for 50€/month. And you can also get the Essential version without all the streaming option for 40€/month. The only option in the world that offer symmetrical 8Gbit/s up/8Gbit/s down is Google Fiber in the US for 150$ a month in selected areas. I have to say that I'm kinda blown away. I wonder how they managed to even be sustainable, but since they're there since the beginning of the 2000 I guess they are. Internet service provider might not be the most exciting thing to talk about, but for those who can understand French, or be okay with the approximate automatic English translation, look at their keynote.
  3. Definitely the best live performance I've ever heard, the whole show is a masterpiece
  4. I'm going to see them live this Wednesday in Paris with Distant, Rivers of Nihil and Ingested I can't wait
  5. I've discovered Hippocampe Fou's latest album "LOdysée d'Hippo" and so far I'm enjoying it so much. His way of matching his lyrics to his instrumental is truly unique, it's an experience in its own right. Especially in the Rap genre. It's always really thoughtful and immersive. His text are really clever but it's in French. But even if you don't understand it, it's just a pleasure to listen to the track by itself, considering how good his flow is. This one is Ancient Egypt themed.
  6. I use Fedora. Because It's the one that works the best for me. I didn't really wanna spend time troubleshooting, and Fedora was the less painful experience (my GT710 cause most distro to boot to a black screen, so I have to install them with basic graphics mode, when I can actually manage to boot to a desktop) I also like it because it's more up to date than Ubuntu and I just generally found Fedora to be more stable. It also give you a stock Gnome experience which I like more than the customized one on Ubuntu. Also tried Manjaro: even tho the gpu work out of the box, it's too unstable, the packages from the AUR tends to break the system way too easily, Debian: couldn't manage to make my GPU work (even under basic graphics mode with the new non free firmware repo in Debian 12, it just won't work) and I just don't have the time to troubleshoot it Basically, I just want the less painful and most straight forward setup process, install it and forget it.
  7. iPhone 13 mini, it replaced my iPhone 11 back in october, I got it because I wanted a small phone, and I'm kinda hooked on the Apple ecosystem to be honest, so I went with the 13 mini, right before the launch of the 14, as we knew Apple wasn't going to release a 14 mini and almost all of the carrier in my country was already starting to be out of stock for the mini. So far it's great, I love its size, the battery isn't that great but I manage to make it through the day with it. I might consider a Android phone next time I upgrade, If I can find a decent one with a screen smaller than 5.5inch.
  8. Hey, So, sure pre-built EFI ain't ideal, but this might help you to at least get your hackintosh running: https://olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=10477
  9. It's not a LGA775 ? Oh my bad, yeah I was completely wrong lol Yeah so either 2 or 4GB. Even tho it will use like 3.25GB instead of the full 4GB. I thought it was one of the first 775 Celeron
  10. 4GB if it have 2 DDR2 slots - 8GB if it have 4 DDR2 slots - 8/16GB if it haves DDR3 slots.
  11. I was with a hook-up/friend, drinking vodka, smoking weed and fucking in front on Netflix. It was a pretty chill evening. I guess he should've been with his girlfriend but yeah, whatever, not my buisness lol
  12. Well I don't know, but it cost nothing to try, doesn't it ! But it's true that I had 2 monitor attached to the 1060, but I think you can make it work
  13. Yeah go for the 1060 6GB, it's a great card, I have it, it run everything I want. But as SwagMaestro said, you might wanna wait until Nvidia unveils their GTX 1660/1660 Ti, if you can afford them, they should be 100 bucks cheaper than the 2060. But if you go for the 1060, I can't stress this enough, don't go for the 3GB model if you were even thinking about it, don't, it doesn't worth it, at all, especially in 2019. (I was playing Apex Legends today, VRAM usage did go up to 5.6GB, but always solid 60fps at Ultra with Very High Texture)
  14. If you still have that P106, I would be curious to know if you could use the same technique but with a second PCIe GPU ? Because, I used that technique, a GTX 1060 6GB and a GT730, I launched games, and while it was displaying with the GT730, it was running on the 1060, and I'm running on a 3rd gen Core i5 3570, maybe this can work for you if you have a spare cheap PCIe GPU it may be worth trying
  15. Hii I've never been here before, nice to join the conversation
  16. Well the CPU temps are good, I mean 68°C max at +3 hours of game is fine That's the GPU temps that goes up to 80°C, but only when playing a really GPU intensive game for a long period of time, for example the GPU never heat up more than 60°C when playing Lol for 5/6 hours straight. Nope I can't, I mean Intel CPUs don't overclock by increasing the frontside bus since 2010 And yeah, but I'll have to find it dirt cheap x) Which is unlikely
  17. Yeah, when I'll work and get more money, I'll definitely get a Ryen 2 build, but that was for now, but you answered my question, the 3770 isn't really worth it and the RAM is fine, so yeah when I'll can I'll get a CPU+MB+RAM+Case (because the Dell PC have proprietary connector for the front panel and power button)
  18. Hello ! So I finished my build (I think), and I wanna know if you think If I I should upgrade anything ? And if it's that case, what ? I know that's a pretty old system (compard to today standards) but that's because I don't have money lmao So my rig is a Dell Optiplex 7010 Mini-Tower with a Intel Core i5 3570@3.4GHz, EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB SC (I plan on maybe overclocking it, I don't know since it already reach 80°C in full gaming load, even with a front and back fan), 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Dual-Channel (2x4GB Samsung 1600MHz, 2x4GB Kingston 1600MHz), Corsair CX650M PSU, 128GB SSD, 240GB SSD, 1TB HDD, 3TB HDD Do you think the upgrade to a Core i7 3770 is really worth the 100$ spent ? I mean, compared to my i5 3570, I just gain 100MHz in Turbo Boost, HyperThreading and 2MB More in Cache L2. Of course, K series CPU would be useless since I'm using a pre-built Dell system. I still get 60FPS at Ultra (1080p) in Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Doom 2016 so I guess that's good for a tight budget gaming build. Thanks to anyone who will answer my question
  19. Me too, I think Nvidia is actually in its confort zone like Intel was few years ago before Ryzen as you mentioned, AMD needs to be more aggressive in its GPU side, but I have great hopes for Navi, I may sell my GTX 1060 if the price/performance ratio is really good
  20. Yeah probably, that's just rumours, but that's the usual price for the RX X80 model, but still, It may well be cheaper than the 1070 Ti
  21. I'd say wait until AMD introduce Navi card, rumour has it that the "RX 3080" would have GTX 1080 class performance for 250$
