I think the CMPSU650TX is the higher end model. Its rated for 650W at 50C vs 40C for the CP-9020098-EU according to this. I realize thats only one specification but if its any indication... plus there are actually reviews with excellent scores for the TX but none i could find for the other one.

you don't need that much wattage. even  a 450w unit is more than enough.

please don't, low quality. get a corsair CX, pure power 10 or coolermaster masterwatt instead.

I have an i7-6700K with hyperthreading off because of the Skylake HT bug. There is no noticable difference with it on or off, and if anything having 2MB L3$ per core is better than 1MB effectively per logical core for most things i do.

The new i5's are also 6 physical cores which is infinitely better than 4 cores 8 thread SMT for many things that require all the resources of a core at once, which is what i assume the i7 you had before was. So in many cases i5 = i7 but the extra L3$ probably helps the i7 in some cases even if the HT doesnt.

In the case of gaming on a budget, a higher clock speed i5 with 6 physical cores is probably going to perform better than a locked i7 at a lower clock speed. Very few games make good use of HT.

2 months from now is also about when details of new Nvidia GPUs are going to be released, and products shortly after that. Pascal is getting old now, and even Volta V100 is over a year old now, so buying a GPU of the current generation in 2 months makes it almost as bad as buying Maxwell right before Pascal was released in 2016.

Id probably get a higher end PSU and instead of getting 3 drives, get one larger SSD.

You wont get much difference with faster RAM than DDR4 2667 either. Not sure how good that thermal grease is, or how often it has to be reapplied, since i usually stick with the OEM stuff since its designed to last forever and stay consistent.

no need for that noctua cooler, a simple cryorig M9i is enough.

a locked i7 and cheapo B360 board will be cheaper and better.

Haha ok man. let me work on an alternative build, see where we fall.
    Haha thanks man!
I'll work on an alternative non oc build now and ask you guys for a second opinion.

The List is fully empty for me, something must've gone wrong.
And I wouldn'd invest too much in the GPU as you said that the prices are still high. Get a 1060 6GB now and then wait for the custom designs of the next gen. The CPU, especially when overclocked, probably wont bottleneck for a long time anyway.

So, I would rather go the i5 8400 and just use the stock cooler - you can't OC with that board anyway, so why bother. Also, maybe consider getting a FE 1060, they seem to be quite cheap and the cooler is DEFINITLY enough for a 1060.
And a 1060 6Gb is even enough for WQHD, so don't worry about that.

You should get a z370 motherboard because you are getting an unlocked skew and ram faster than 2666. If you don't wan to over clock then just get 2666 ram and locked cpu. Also you most probably only need 1 extra case fan as you get 2 default.

having an i7 is nice but you won't see much of a difference in gaming with a 1060. also, you can't oc with a B360 board, get an i5 8400 and use the stock cooler, save the money for a better gpu.
