  1. Oh, okay. I must have misunderstood you at first. Well, you be wrong since we don't have a TV with HDMI ports on it on the house. But I can at least get a new DisplayPort cable & try it.
  2. I could, but the thing is that my pc is the only custom-built in the house, while my mom has an all-in-one pc meaning that it doesn't have the same selection of ports/IO, but that DID occur to me earlier.
  3. Hm, that's what I was thinking too. But I guess there's no easy way of determining if anything is wrong with the cable I currently have...?
  4. Hard to believe that my last post here was only a little more than a month ago, & yet it feels longer than that to me. Anyway, I feel like I can definitely use your help on this matter, guys cause I can only theorize/speculate. Without further ado, let's just jump right in. Okay, so, a little more than 2 years ago, I made a forum post/topic about the artifacting issue I was having on the gaming rig after I had to swap the motherboard as part of the troubleshooting process. [You can look at that post, but I stated a few things in correctly in it, but it will still give you a ballpark idea of what was going on then.] Anyway, I have an update on that: Just yesterday, I upgraded from the RTX 2070 SUPER that I had to a brand new RTX 4070 Ti "thinking" that the issue was related to the GPU itself. But after I got it in, booted up the rig & upgraded my driver via GeForce Experience, I still have that same issue! [Also, for anyone wondering, I DID use DDU to uninstall the old driver first. And, essentially, nothing about the setup has really changed aside from having a i7 10th Gen now, & being on Windows 11.] I looked at a few of my posts I made in the past related to this issue to refresh my memory before I made this one, but I've given the matter some thought & have a possible theory as to what could be going on. I would however, like your input on this just as confirmation though. Based on my experience that I've had with this so far over the last couple years, I'm thinking that the issue most likely is with the Displayport cable that I've had since the beginning. Because I visually inspected the 2070 SUPER, & upon a close but careful inspection, I'm not seeing ANY visual damage to the pins & there is nothing wrong with the IO on the card itself. Unfortunately, the Display port cable that I've been using which came with my monitor is the only 1 I've got, & I even went as far as to check the end that was plugged into the GPU & to my eyes, I didn't see any evidence that it was damaged or anything. But then again, I don't have any of the proper tools to evaluate that sort of thing anyway given that I've never had any background with IT, nor worked in like a tech repair shop or what have you. Still, I would like some opinions/thoughts/advice on the matter. Is there anyway I can check or validate for myself that the issue is with the cable, or just for the heck of it, should I purchase a new one, try it out, & see if that helps? In the meantime, though, I'm open to other suggestions & advice that you guys would have, but please, view & read that previous post I alluded to first! Also, for anyone wondering, I updated parts list & the pcpartpicker URL on my profile. Like always- if you guys need extra details or if you have any questions, just feel free to comment or message me & I will get back to you all 1 by 1. Anyway, thanks in advance to whomever can help!
  5. Well, guys, it's definitely been a while since I last made a post here, but I could use your help on this as it's a REAL challenge. Be sure to keep on reading for more details. So, this happens to be the gaming desk that I've been rocking for nearly the last 4 years & it has held up pretty good for the most part. --[This is the link to it, by the way for anyone interested. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T1XYD1H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 Do bear in mind that the version I have has a bit of a "hump" at the back hence it's odd shape, but it is technically also for the cable management tray as well.]-- However, one area where it hasn't quite held up as well is with regards to the included mousepad that came with the desk itself. It has lasted me pretty much since day 1, however, the issue I have with it is that part of the underside is kind sticking to the desk almost as if it's melting.] Now, my room is sort of on the smaller side, & the house itself is at least 100 years old, but due to it settling over the years, I'm pretty certain that there are some slight issues with my room being properly ventilated even though I keep my back door & the window shut, plus, the blinds pulled down most of the time. But then again, I have noticed now that the mousepad that they included with the desk is of "okay" quality, but obviously not the best by a longshot. And the issue I have now is simply trying to find the right-sized one that matches the dimensions of my desk. Now, I have already done a bit of searching on my own, but even as 1 reviewer has said regarding this desk, trying to find a replacement is as they put it, "a nightmare" & I totally see what they mean now. I have even consulted using Bard & Bing Chat, but I haven't exactly managed to find the right mousepad that I prefer which would serve as a suitable replacement. The first place I checked was the official merch site, but the store sadly enough does NOT have the right size & I even checked Amazon as well with no luck. I generally prefer to find something that would fit perfectly if I'm able to. If you check the dimensions which are listed under the Product Information, the Depth of the desk is 23.62" or 599.948mm, & the Width is 55.12" or 1400.048mm. You guys are probably wondering by now, though, what I prefer or look for in a mousepad. My requirements are nothing outrageous: I prefer a durable/high-quality cloth like material that is ideal for gaming, dimensions that match, & as for the artwork, I'll leave that up to me even though I'm not too fussy about that sort of thing, but as a person, I do have my preferences. With that being said, I am truly hoping that someone here can help me find the right one I'm looking for. If I accidentally left out any important details, or if you guys have ANY questions for me about this, just ask away & I will be sure to reply! So, thanks in advance everyone!
  6. Throughout all of this, what I'm really struggling to understand is: Is the issue with my Windows 11 USB installation media --assuming I screwed it up somehow despite following the guide to the letter,-- or is the issue actually hardware-related even though according to Samsung Magician & DiskGenius the drive is still healthy with no issues...? Man, either way, I need someone good & experienced enough to help me out since I haven't been able to make any sense of this problem so far. JUST PASS THE WORD ON & SHARE THIS POST, PEOPLE! I'd appreciate it!
  7. Well, don't get me wrong- I could do it, but there's kind of little point to do it when I have ran Windows 10 before in the past & it just worked. And I'm not saying Windows 11 doesn't work; it does & I LOVE it! But I just don't know if the issue is with the drive itself or me possibly screwing up my Windows 11 installation media when I created it... [Even though I followed the guide to the letter.]
  8. **BTW, I ought to mention for everyone that I have also posted about my issue [Mainly the link to the post itself.] in the official Discord server under tech-support. Hoping that might help for any of you who are active there.** For now, though, I'm still waiting...
  9. Okay, guess I shouldn't have to worry about it. But I refuse to believe the issue is hardware-related. Besides, I used this guide on how to create your Windows 11 installation media: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5N-52JNIH4 And from what I can tell, it's a solid guide & I don't think I bunged up my Windows 11 installation media & even if I did, I don't see how. But just wanted to put that out there just as extra info & confirmation on my part.
  10. BTW, do you happen to know if the regular 970 Evo has had failure issues before or not? I was actually chatting with someone last night on the Microsoft Community Discord server & someone there did say that the 970 Evo is as he put it, "famous for failure", but I just want extra confirmation & if that's the case, maybe my drive has been slowly starting to go bad even though it's in good health...? And if what was said is true about the regular/OG 970 Evo, surely the 970 Evo Plus is a bit better & improved, right? Anyway, I appreciate the efforts nonetheless. Of course, if you know of anyone else whom you could pass this on to, I'd be grateful!
  11. Funny you mention trying Linux. I actually DID try completely migrating over to Linux [Specifically Zorin OS] a few weeks ago, but it didn't exactly go well & I'm not really like an expert on Linux anyway, so I chose to go back to Windows since it's just what I'm more used to as whole. Besides, even if I were to try it again [Don't get your hopes up on that.], I don't even know if anyone has gotten the EA app working on Linux through Wine or Lutris somehow or not. But I was using the EA app for my games & NOT Origin since it's buggy & EA/Origin hopes to migrate everyone over to the EA app since it's SO much better anyway. On the 2nd note, I DO have a Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB that I brought brand new for once the 970 Evo kicks the bucket. But, I really don't want to install a 2nd drive in my system & worry about any complications from that or setting up raid ,etc simply because I don't want or need a 2nd drive in my system. I also ran Intel's Processor Diagnostic Tool even though the CPU isn't the factor here, & it passed ALL the tests with flying colors! But yeah, I AM open to any other suggestions you have, but TBH, I don't want to go back to Windows 10 since I've really grown to like Windows 11...
  12. I mean I definitely could, but my drive is STILL quite healthy & the screenshots above pretty prove that. Plus, it's not even EOL yet. Unless someone [Anyone] has evidence/proof otherwise. [Not trying to be rude or contradict you. ]
  13. Did you have a Samsung SSD in your system before you swapped to a different SSD, or were you rocking like a lesser-known brand?
  14. @Radium_AngelNevermind. After looking it up, the process was QUITE easy. Anyway, I checked BOTH the SSD and the USB flash drive I used & they're both in great shape. Of course, the Samsung Magician screenshot I took earlier also verifies that, so...
  15. BTW, when you say to do a sector-by-sector drive health check in DiskGenius, do you mean where it says "Check Partition Table Error"? Cause I literally haven't used DiskGenius before. But thankfully, I'm a quick learner. But still, I'm not sure what it's labeled as or how to do it for that matter...
  16. Don't worry, I'll be sure to check very shortly & let you all know what I find. BTW, did you mean my SSD, the USB flash drive I used or both?
  17. I'm like 98.5% sure there is nothing wrong with it. But then again, I'm exactly sure how to check that on Windows... I DO know that I formatted it first to NTFS before I even created the installation media with Rufus. Plus, I'm sure Samsung Magician is a relatively good tool for checking the health of your SSD, but if you insist otherwise, I can use DiskGenius just to check.
  18. I could swear that I have NEVER encountered an issue as annoying & as frustrating as this, but I've got to get help somewhere, somehow. So anyway, get ready for a rather lengthy tale of events here folks... A few weeks ago, I had to reinstall Windows due to a different issue I had at the time --I don't remember the specifics though tbh. Probably something wrong with the last install of Windows I did or something.]-- & I've noticed that after MULTIPLE fresh installs of Windows, I keep having corrupt system files occur, I'm later unable to launch my games, & I have yet to figure out why. It will sometimes occur a bit after I get some things done like drivers, updates, etc. When I run the SFC scanner in an admin Command Prompt, it will say that it found corrupt system files & that it managed to successfully repair them. I then reboot the pc & once I'm back in, I do a 2nd check just to be sure. And later, when I try to launch the games & I can't due to them not launching, that's when I know right off the bat that the system files are corrupted again. But WHY & HOW?! BTW, I ought to say that I chatted about this with a couple different sources: On the Microsoft Community Forum & in the Microsoft Community on Discord. From the conversation I had from my Community Forum Post, the guy who attempted to help me out believed that the issue is hardware-related, but I can assure you that that's NOT the case since I haven't really had any instability issues or BSODs whatsoever. So that's clearly not part of the problem. When I was chatting with a user from the Microsoft Community on Discord, a guy provided me with some commands to try AFTER the sfc scan found corrupt files, managed to repair them & once you're rebooted: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth [TBH, I'm not entirely sure if these are right commands to run or not, but someone feel free to confirm please.] But here's the process I have as for reinstalling Windows: I use the installation media I created myself on a USB flash drive & install from that. [I was using the Media Creation Tool briefly, but IMO, I think Rufus tends to do a better job for custom-pcs. Correct me if I'm wrong on that, but I find Rufus quite handy for this.] Once I'm in the setup wizard, I delete all the other drives/partitions that show up until only my SSD shows up completely unallocated & I hit install. After that, the setup process is smooth & I'm taken to the Windows Desktop like any other user. Now, right after I'm booted to the desktop, I stop Windows Updates from rolling in until I get my drivers all installed, THEN I do my updates. And then after that, I get my games installed. But, when I try to launch my games, that's when I'm unable to load them most likely due to the Visual C++ stuff getting messed up cause of the corrupt system files issue. And the exact issue(s) that happen when I try to launch both games? Well, 1 says: "There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall your game.", while the other won't launch anymore! So, you're probably wondering at this point what I have done as far as troubleshooting & trying to fix this issue? Well, let's just say A LOT, but I'll fill you in anyway. One of the first things I tried was reinstalling both the launcher itself & both games, but that clearly didn't work. I have also done a checkdisk right at startup to check if there are any errors with the SSD, but there are none since my SSD is still quite healthy with plenty of life left in it. I have also run both MemTest86 and built-in diagnostic tool just to see if there are issues with the ram, but there are literally none. I've even tried in-place upgrades with no success & I did try repairing all the Visual C++ packages I have & then trying to launch both games, but STILL no success! And also, I don't really overclock my system at all, I do enable XMP though. And for anyone who is curious, here's my parts/components list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DB7zsL But yeah, I'm quite frankly stumped on this issue & I don't know WHAT the factor(s) at hand could be since I have tried a bunch of different tricks up my sleave If any of you happen to need more details or wish to ask me anything, please do & I'll be sure to respond back & I AM open to suggestions/advice/tips, etc since I LITERALLY haven't had this problem until recently. Anyway, thanks in advance & hope someone here can help...
  19. As for me, my personal favorite would have to be Yandex as it's a REALLY solid browser! But, if I had to list my "other favorites" they would include Opera GX, & Vivaldi. I also use Edge & Naver Whale as a replacement for Chrome since I was getting a little tired of it.
  20. I actually meant to say in the Zorin OS forum post that she doesn't have a graphics card in her system at all; she's only relying on the integrated graphics built into her Intel CPU.
