anyone up for making a motherboard tier list?
i kinda feel we need one here (comes in the build megathread too)

1. Mitsumi
B. Asus
tres. Gigabyte

i mean, in a serious way
not this

@Justinzonfire buildzoid isn't here afaik... i mean, i wouldn't mind him working on it, but i can't really contact him

Mitsumi makes some good motherboards for Nintendo devices (including handhelds and controllers).
The other brands I mentioned were serious suggestions; usually those are the best options IMO. AsRock just usually has poorer memory support and VRM's for a similar price and same kind of goes for MSI (although memory support is less bad than it used to be).
Asus and Gigabyte are my go to board brands to recommend, but they also have some less good stuff. It's like Gigabyte is usually better in low to mid end, Asus is better in the higher end stuff.

@LukeSavenije Its the internet. There is always a way!

In the nicest way possible, I would have to say no.
Motherboards is just something I don't know enough about to productively add something to. Like I know what the VRM's are, but don't know how exactly the numbers influence the temps and such.
AKA: I would not be a reliable source and couldn't properly look this stuff up that is why I mostly stay out of motherboard recommendation topics.

As far as I know, the most important things in a motherboard are:
- Memory support (in terms of speed, but this is more an issue on the AMD side)
- VRMs (coupled with CPU support)
- PCIe setup
- Chipset (less of a thing on the AM4 side, bigger deal on the Intel side)
- Ports I guess???
Probably more I'm not thinking off

I'm not sure i have enough info to contribute, but i'm good at sorting info and consolidating/presenting it in a readable format

I'm currently in the process of building a website pretty much exactly for this, but I could use your help to fill the DB with all the info you have on mobos
