  1. a quick search on google delivered this reply from apple forums https://www.apple.com/shop/question/answers/product/HHLN2ZM/B/can-the-late-2012-imac-be-used-as-a-monitor-with-this/Q4XXFADKU99CTJ2DK basically, no
  2. intel declared that chiplets were just cpus glued together now they will do the chiplets glued together but one in top of the other, because thir chiplets are enormous, not in 7nm like amd ones, that is why amd doesnt need the glue one in top of the other idea yet the problem with the 3d stack is that if you glue 3 chips one in top of the otherr, if for example the one in the bottom heats, it will jeat unevenly the other 2 on top, so how do you cool properly all 3? they are trying with lots of new patents, new designs, this cpu will take some years to reach consumers, it wont happen next year, perhaps 2022
  3. the fist step is discover the exact model of monitor to find the exact model of the part you need, then if you dont find it on ebay or amazon, aliexpress should have it, they send the part and takes a month to get here, perhaps longer, usially they send parts on train and then by sea
  4. do you have another psu to test pc? have you tested with other ram modules?
  5. linus made a video on the topic days ago if you find the part and you can do it by yourself for low cost, it migth be cost effective is not that easy, but is doable to be honset if you have to ask here, you are not that interested into fixing it, i would sell it as damaged, for parts, use the money to buy another and dont invest much time in it, if you manage to find the scrren replamcement part the time to be sent to you might be months
  6. supposed will be commet lake, but to be honest intel has been a it silent because as you mention they are focusing on laptops intel is in a sort pf panic stare at the moment those leaks about i7 10700 and similar, seems to be fake, lots of rumors but no idea when or how many cores they will come, or how they will compete against the 16 cores monster from amd, they have nothing against the 12 cores now
  7. open box means that box could be damaged and some contents could be exposed or missing, or that it was returned by a previous buyer and is being sold again you could get all products just fine, sata cables, manuals, io shield, motherboard migth come with the box damaged but all fine, even could come with another box i personally never buy a product like this, becaise i want to have the complete experience of using something new and have all the accesories
  8. well, now that you mention copyrights, iirc, is not 50 years, isnt 75 or 100 years? like some disney movies that went free to download, some old mickey mouse movies made in1928 iirc in general yes, abandonware is not a legal term, it is what you say, if the owner does something, otherwise it is left abandoned so people just use it
  9. older server hardwar, i mean, server in a server motherboard with servet psu is noisy, big and power hungry i would go for ryzen, a r5 could do the ttick, put 16gbs of ram, should run many servers at once easily, minecraft doesnt eat much resources really, not unless you load lots of mods and play on the same pc, similar for other games i wouldnt run linux for this purpose, if the issue is the license, microsoft basically lets you run witjout license, but punishes you with a nice watermark reminding you to buy the license, i have been running a laptop like that for 2+ years linux is completelly viable, but for minecraft i found it to be annoying, fight with java on linux is annoying, really, run tje binaries on linux is a pita for java
  10. s340 doesnt exist anymore, it was replaced by nzxt h500 or h500i is basically the same as s340 elite but abit more modern, should cost 70 dollars more or less
  11. a cooler doesnt kill anything for having dried thermal paste it would just overheat things under load a doa part is more likely, usually is motherboard
  12. support, well on vista perhaps legacy, agp port, i would buy a fx6200 or a ati 9600, should work on all 3 iirc i rember i had a ati 9200 on that time, i dont remember usong it in vista, but i used it on xp and older os, wuat works on xp has to wprk on windows 2000, the 9600 is more capable but also more expensive same for the fx6200
  13. some ram modules could be a kit composed of 4 modules other kits could be low latency, cl14 for example, others could be cl16 or cl18 or even higher other could be ram with rgb lights, to give lots of bling to the pc other kits could be just seller trying to get every penny from you, like those sellers selling a 100 dollar part at 350 dollars if you give examples of two parts with different prices we could look at them and ser why so big difference
  14. usually with ddr3 ram, maximum you should buy is ddr3 at 1600mhz, few motherboards can do 1866 and being a intel cpu might not see a improvement on faster ddr3 if for any chance, the motherboard only can push ram up to 1066 or 1366mhz, the 1600mhz ram will be forced to work at those speeds
  15. did you enabled the xmp or docp profile on the bios?
  16. to do video editing and gaming 16gbs is enough, yes ifctou can put more, better for future needs, but 2x8gbs ram kit is just perfect for now
  17. it is not necesarily the thermal paste thst needs to be replaced, could be fan and heatsink all filled with dust, fluf inside if you are going to replace thermal paste be sure to clean the fan and heatsink too thermal paste should be good for 2 or 3 years, is not a exact time, also depends on heat applied to the thermal paste, how fast it goes all solid or almost evaporates
  18. what gpu are you using there? second slot on some motherboards could have speed limitations, power limitations, tjat is why i ask if other cards work on the said slot
  19. if for example you have a windows 95 license key but you need the installation disk only you might find people selling it but as mentioned before there are laws on some countries agaibst selling such disks, even if it is just the installer perhaps ask if someone you know has such disk, also on some pc recycle centers you could find what you need at the moment, for example, is basically free to download and install DOS 4.0, but is not legal to download and install for example windows 3.1 i think it is abandonware or free to use after 25 or 30 years, not 50
  20. i never heard such situation, all pci express slots should be enabled all the time specially if you are not using the first slot do you have other pci express cards to see if the slot is working?
  21. the extra fps will not be seen but it will be constant and that is something you want to have, constant fps ideally you buy a gaming monitor, but if you cant afford it, it will work if your monitor can do freesync and gpu too, enable it, should help alot if it doesnt have freesync you might need to enable vsync on some games if image has too much screen tearing, you have to test each game and see if you need the feature enabled or not
  22. the presdure depends on you and the screwdriver you used to install it kill a cpu this way is very unlikely, if you killed something that way, perhaps would be the motherboard, and you had to put so much strength that you would be capable of seeing it , the bent or fissured motherboard i dont think you did that
  23. i have a nzxt h500, works great once you set fans on the right speed, i added fans in the front but chamged the stock fans for 3 slow tuermaltake ones and put a 140mm on top, this case is mostly negative pressure so push air out is a priority is the most clean and good looking case i have seen to date the problem i see is the motherboard, seller has to guarantee you it comes with ryzen 3000 bios, otherwise you will have a motherboard that wont work with a new cpu i have heard alot of complains about msi not offering a capable bios to handle new ryzen 3000 cpus, their bios is 16mbs only, it should be 32mbs in capacity, they are planning on selling all those motherboards with bigger bios to be able to keep compatibility untill ryzen 4000 rest sounds good to me
  24. if you decide to change to that g4560, you will need new r and new motherboard, not just the motherboard if you keep the i5 if you can find a cheap replacement motherboard, i would do that but if you have the budget, i would vuy 2x4gbs ram kit, a cheap ryzen and a b450 motherboard, let the old i5 go all depends on your budget
  25. you can do two things, fix the screen or hope you synchronized your contacts on google account, if not, well, you cant really open the contents of the phone and take out the contacts file, is not so simple if it is a android, you migth get dome luch using adb and reading lots of manuals to try and find the contacts you want to be honest, pay someone to change the screen and rember to use google account to keep backups of your contacts
