  1. Hey, its Aug 2020 and my 3600 is just as the one in this thread hot like that and at 1.3V idle. I have the latest drivers and bios provided by ASUS ( I have the ROG Strix B450). Any help? Also I have thermal grizzly Kryonaut because I thought that could be a problem.
  2. Switching cooler or CPU... That's the only time i've seen Youtuber's do it. But on the flip side, I dont recall seing a youtuber pull off the cooler and then apply the same one again.
  3. Do I need to reapply thermal paste when I take the cooler off? since i only flipped it I thought it was fine. I had no Idea I had to redo it when you take it off.
  4. its the pre-applied one. it is covering the whole thing. But I wonder weather it is too thin or have a flat spot where my fingerprint might be. How thick does it need to be because its some by the sides of the cpu.
  5. Forgot to say, but when my CPU hits 70 degrees, my mobo puts all fans to max rpm for a short time. That's why its extra annoying. I don't like watching a movie with a jet engine of a PC right next to me.
  6. the big spike to 70 degrees Celsius was when I opened chrome... I bought the BeQuiet pure rock cooler to make my system quiter, which it did. Then I wanted to seat the cooler upside down (i have a case that puts the motherboard upside down so this puts its so the bequiet logo is the right way up) so I took it off, flipped it, realised it could not fit upside down, seated it back like it should be and now my temps are high af again. The thing is though that I think that the thermal paste got "scraped off" a little when I tried to take the cooler off(the cooler was sticky to the cpu by the pre-applied thermal paste so I had to twist it and drag it which wasn't optimal. Also my finger touched the cpu cooler and left a small fingerprint. Could the problem be that the thermal paste is now too thin and that's why the temps are so unstable? If so, is it a bad idea to go with the Thermal grizzly thermal pad. I hate thermal compound because of its stickiness and it gets everywhere and i could reuse my thermal pad when I upgrade in a couple of years. (i just want quietness with base performance)
  7. UPDATE: Ive upgraded to a Seasonic Focus GX 650. But i still get the bug! SUPER ANNOYED! I'm going after Mobo next... Edit: Also no info from windows...
  8. OK this could be huge. I just realized that when I changed the fan speed on my ASUS Fan xpert 4, it crashed. It seems that sudden increase of power causes the crashes? This happens every time i change from low speed to max on my ASUS software. But also when I booted my mouse was not "recognised by windows". ALSO I JUST RELAISED THAT 2 USB ports are now dead?! Maybe it is a motherboard malfunction? Or do you still believe it is Power supply because of the sudden power increase that could have killed 2 USB ports somehow?? Edit: Rebooted the system and the USB ports are now functioning as normal. But should I buy a mobo instead?
  9. kind of already did this. Got a new CPU for my birthday July 1st. But had these issues before the new CPU. (from 1600 to 3600) edit: also reseated my mobo when I changed chassis at the same time

  12. yeah i now noticed that when the system crashed it left no program crashes. the only message as shown here: and it only sayd that windows was not properly shut down with noi given info on why. Does this make you think it must hardware? (pic further down, for some reason it didnt come through)
