Does it make the room humid though

how does that work ?
 

Evaportation of water cools air because physics. I suppose it will increase humidity, but I measured, and air coming out is about 5 degrees cooler than ambient.

And.. where's the heat going ?

The heat (energy) goes into changing the phase of the water, from liquid to gas.

It evaporates because the fan brings air through the blue stuff, which water drips down slowly. The blue stuff is for evaporative air conditioners, and allows water to go down very slowly wwhile allowing the air to evaporate it.

Oh ok so it works like a humidifier
the blue stuff is coated with something or is it just mostly foam of some sort ?

I think its just a airy material, not really foam, but works basically the same.
