  1. I have some questions about Intel Optane as I'm considering one. Can you use Optane on RAIDed hard drives? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  2. I would go with a quad-core i3-8100, 8gb of RAM and a GTX 1050Ti rather than an RX 560 and a Ryzen 3 1200 for gaming. A 500W PSU is more than enough for it, and you should wait at least until April 2nd to get cheaper motherboards for Coffee Lake. That should fit nicely in your budget, assuming you have got gears and monitors and stuff.
  3. Just go to the AMD Support website about the bootkit at this link: https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/2Gen-Ryzen-AM4-System-Bootup.aspx They've got the latest instruction there about the bootkit. But I think it's only for people with Ryzen APUs, and not Ryzen 2.
  4. That would take a long time mate. @Fez760 what's your budget? We need a specific budget to get you a recommendation.
  5. Download it from the page, use the statistics button on the top left, and press the start test button
  6. Do an AIDA64 stress test, not a game load. 30% is not enough to boost it up
  7. Yes, give it a workload and it will rise to 4.7ghz no problem. I have a 7700k with a base of 4.2ghz, at idle it will run at 1.3ghz, but under load it rises to 4.5ghz. So no problem there.
  8. When it's idle it will downclock to save power
  9. I'd recommend an Intel Core i7-990X, but you might need to check for deals on Ebay or something, as that thing might not come cheap (MSRP: $1059). You can also buy a Xeon X5690, i7-980,... But remember to get a good cooler for them, as they are hot as hell when running at full load (130W TDP) IDK if there are any more 6-core LGA1366 CPUs, and that is my suggestions.
  10. Kinda overkill with a 1080ti even if it's triple 1080p monitors in my opinion. A 1070Ti will serve you just as well for less.
  11. Nope, a Volta GPU (you mean Titan V??????) is not worth it at all considering its price. A 1080Ti is still extremely powerful. As for the CPU, the i7 7820x has the best single core performance in the whole x299 lineup, so it's very powerful in gaming, and productivity as well with 6 cores.
  12. 80 bucks won't give you much tbh. There are only A320s and some cheapo B350 boards at that price range.
  13. With streaming and gaming, an i7 7820x should be adequate for anything you throw at it.
  14. People are passively cooling the CPUs all the time. As long as you know the CPU is not powerful and won't produce much heat, you should be fine.
  15. Then I would suggest that you stay with the 5930K for a while as this is still a very capable CPU. If you are not in immediate need of upgrading then wait for the prices to go down and probably wait for the HEDT Coffee Lake CPUs.
  16. The only viable upgrade would be an i7 6850K for that platform... But a Ryzen 7 1800X smoked them all.
  17. If your laptop has too many trash/junks that slowed down your computer, then you should do a clean OS install as it would wipe any files on it. You should do it only when you have tried every other method.
  18. Get a higher frequency RAM for ur build, around 2666 or 3200.
  19. Does any of you guys are using a smart lock for your house? If so, which one are you using? And can you guys give me a suggestion for a good smart lock. I need to have fingerprints and a number passcode. Price is not an issue. Every suggestions/comments are much appreciated!
  20. I thought you only need 100 posts to get "Member" role.
  21. I would personally recommend waiting for Volta/Ampere in April (rumors). I think it will provide a massive leap in performance compared to Pascal. Also, tfw miners? Killing cards prices...
  22. It will fit nicely as the 1060 SC version is relatively small and my findings on Google about the case looks like it's adequate for the card.
