This status update is for Project Datacentre Evolution. If you're looking for details on Project Personal Datacentre, please see the previous status update for today. Let's get into the important details. The DOOGEE S90 v2 that I've been waiting to see more on is actually being called the DOOGEE S90 Pro. So, I'll be waiting for that to come out before getting a new smartphone. I'm buying it more for the features and gadgets than the camera. For the camera gap that's in my current fleet (with the absence of a 4K HDR camera), I'm looking for a camera from Blackmagic Design, seeing that I have no desire to instantly share every photo I take with the world. I can also get a better imaging sensor in a dedicated camera, which is a plus. I'm also interested in Google's Project Stadia, and would like to grab the Stadia Controller if possible. The rest of Stadia's perks mean nothing to me, because I will be hosting my own game-streaming service - via Project Personal Datacentre (with Moonlight). Project New Client will decrease my dependency on remoting into Project Personal Datacentre, which is especially useful in environments with bad/congested/compromised networks. Gotta also setup an encrypted VPN service on the Datacentre at some point, to accompany the DNS server that I already have. And if Personal Datacentre works out as well as I hope, I could use the GTX 1060 6GB as an eGPU for New Client. Hopefully, my previous experiences with ESXi will make this a breeze.

  • 2019 - GTX 1080/1080 Ti (Personal Datacentre)

  • 2019 - JBL Synchros E50BT or Stadia Controller

  • 2019/2020 - Project New Client

  • 2020/2022 - Project Personal Datacentre (T7610)

  • 2022 - DOOOGEE S90 Pro

  • 2022/2023 - Camera from Blackmagic Design

  • Hopefully move out in 3-5 years

  • 20XX - Project Personal Datacentre (c7000 - Pending)

  • 20XX - Infrastructure upgrade (Threadripper/EPYC)

The last parts are the long-term evolution(s) of Project Personal Datacentre. If I have it my way, I'll have a pretty involved setup when I move out. Changes can be made, depending upon availability of monetary resources. My first job of the year starts in a few days.

On a side note, this is still on my mind ?

It all starts this summer...

On a side note, the workstation I currently use is nicknamed TopHat_Workstation. I think I'll call the next build, TopHat_Datacentre...

Might be adding the JBL Synchros E50BT back to the shopping list. At ~150 USD max, they make for good Bluetooth headphones, and pair with almost anything and everything I currently own. Not as picky as the ones I currently have (SONY WH-CH700N). For some reason, those had a hard time connecting to either my tablet or my iPod Touch...

    Spoiler

Kinda hard to remember since I stopped using them after getting annoyed with them during a car ride, where they just couldn't work as they were supposed to. They've been put in tech-exile for being dysfunctional for anywhere near 100 USD.
