Okay, people. I have a priority list to accomplish before summer ends. Out of all the crap on that list, here's what's left:
- Purchase Windows 10 Enterprise and Server 2016 Datacenter (licenses - this Friday)
- Figure out WTF is making ESXi act unfriendly to my 4TB drive - c'mon VMware!
- Send stuff to a certain friend (this Friday)...
- Install Windows 10 Enterprise and Server 2016 Datacenter to their VMs (while also working out this)
-
Install vCenter Server in Windows Server 2016
- (unless I can find the accursed Linux appliance - no luck thus far...)
This can extend beyond the summer if necessary (although I'd rather it not):
- Purchase nVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
- Give up on getting a PCI-e SSD (so I can OC my CPUs through SetFSB)
- Maybe get a MacOS VM working?!
- Think about whether I should get a pair of Xeon X5670's in the future?
#PersonalDatacenterRevisit
I would have gotten Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, but it's more expensive with the sourcing I have. In addition to that, I don't think I can actually make full use of its features with my current hardware. Even with the $#!t that Windows 10 Enterprise is currently going through, I should still be safe with getting that edition since I rarely ever use customer support. Just a matter of working within my current means until I can go full-power Meanwhile, I also gotta work on my CompTIA+ cert, two summer courses, and work (Amazon - 3 days/week). Great.
