  1. Not sure if I'm just behind the times, but holy crap, LTT team has taken off somewhat. Last I saw was somewhat less than https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_list.php?s= is reporting. We're also at number 4! Well done @GOTSpectrum again! Well done to all of us!
  2. I'm fairly new to all this Folding buisness, but progressing well it seems. I just want to say thank you to @GOTSpectrum and everyone that has helped and all of us that is participating in it. I'm from the UK where the panic is setting in fairly well, which is madness, but nonetheless, Folding and this community is giving not just me hope, but also a lot of my elderly parents. Thank you all!
  3. Unfortunately this didn't work for me. Think I'm going to have to try some different RAM...
  4. Thank you for the suggestion, I will definitely give that a go!
  5. Hi, I have a new system that is a Ryzen 2700x, with 2x16GB of Corsair Vengance RGB Pro C16 3200MHz. However, I can only get it to run at 2133MHz and I'd like to get it to go at the rated frequency at least, I'm farily new to full PC systems so may have missed some BIOS tweak but ive tried most things that appear to be obvious going through my mobo's BIOS settings and I cant get it to go any faster, The part no. for the RAM is CMW32GX4M2C3200C16, and the mobo is an ASUS ROG Strix X570-F Gaming, Can you help please?
  6. I'm not overly familar with the camera personally, but I know LTT and many many others have praised it in the past. Panasonic Lumix GH4. I'd be tempted to get a 2nd hand one with a reasonable lens and do something with that - Otherwise, see what you can do in terms of borrowing people's cameras to try out or get a feel for one at a store, like the Canon EOS M100. Very versatile bit of kit, small and pocketable (ish) that could probably do what you need, just be wary of jumping into it and locking yourself to a lens mount that you'll have to get rid of later down the line...
  7. I'd imagine that each of the 2 minute clips are just that, at the limit of the FAT32 file size limitation. How large is each 2 minute clip?
  8. Based on @givingtnt's flairs, theyre still live, but unfortunately I think youre right with the migration that happened, despite linking the accounts, they arent working for me anymore. Thanks all for the information.
  9. I thought that us floatplane supporters got Floatplane flairs / accolades. I cant find any against me. What can I do to get it back if possible? Apologies for the potentially stupid question and thanks in advance
  10. I'm in love with the image above. Its brilliant. Very nice tones and capture of the shadows and the highlights, especially on a mobile phone camera where the noise and tones always seem to come out and never do the view justice. I very much empathasise with not wanting to carry a camera up that high. Beautifully captures the moment. In terms of what I'd say you can do to improve the image, I'll ignore the image quality issues present and noise primarily due to the use of a mobile phone camera, I would say that some more context for the image with some more width could be benefical, say with a panorama, either with seperate images you stitch together later on or using the panorama mode I presume your phone has. Or alternatively, changing the perspective and focussing more, if possible, on a route going up to the summit. You have captured the transition from light to dark across the frame and also framed it so that the horizon is dominant on the image and you avoid the excess noise from capturing more of the darker sky. This is my image, taken on a Canon 760D, stitched together in post in Lightroom, of a small river in Snowdonia, Northern Wales, UK.
  11. BBC article explains its planned use for AI systems and such for anyone like me who didnt know. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-49395577 But also, 400,000 cores. Thats ridiculous.
  12. I am far from an expert in this field, but I would stay with the GTX 1070 rather than the RX580, I believe the GTX 1070 will perform a lot better. Probably worth checking out the LTT video on the RX580 for performance comparison. The better clock speed on the Ryzen 2700X vs the 2700 will be beneficial, but assuming you're planning on overclocking it, then check the Mobo's compatibility for OC, as not all boards support this, or if they do, how well it handles it as this can be another matter entirely. Everything else looks good on the whole, although I'm not sure why you want to go for 2 SSDw as the NVMe 500GB is all you'd want in the real world, with the HDD doing the large storage. I'd be tempted to go for more RAM, dont worry about speed of it just make sure its compatible, but I use Dell and theyre wierldy RAM heavy on their OS so may be fine for you.
  13. So I got TunnelBear VPN last year off the back of the LTT sponsor spots, but soon after, the fiasco with LTT dropping them happened and I cba to change provider and basically didnt use it much. I'm now up for renewal of contract, and wondering if I should stick with TunnelBear or go with someone else like PIA? If i should avoid TunnelBear, why? Any advice gratefully recieved
  14. Hi, I am trying to setup my own website (based in UK) and want to own the doman outright. If anyone has any advice on this, it will be gratefully recieved, Best regards, Ben
  15. You are right though, with the fragility of the leica kit. Theyre weatherproof in some cases, but far from knock proof, which is testamount to the steel nerves of Excelsior for letting Linus hold it... Sadly yes, the interesting pricing that Leica uses on its products has a tendancy to screw over anyone who wants any of this sort of kit and isnt a large scale construction / design companies which can just throw money at it and not notice, is kinda sucky but, meh, the very best from the swiss precicion giant kinda demands a price like that...
