  1. The newest hp foldable ltt video on 5/2/24 for 5k usd got me thinking. LTT talks a lot about recycling and buying used tech, could they show their dedication to this cause by having a video series about used tech that is at good bang for the buck used prices? My example is that I just bought a 2019 surface pro 7 for about $320 and it had less than 10 charge cycles and looks brand new, there are others for similar prices on swappa and other websites. Let's show viewers good current deals on older yet still perfectly usable tech, let's all work together to keep stuff out of landfills. I'm not saying let's make a video on this every month, but let's have some people (fans included) keep track of good/powerful hardware that exists in the used market and when the market shows good trends let's pop out a post about it or a video. I know it won't be some mash hit on views but it will help those who need it, especially in the future when old tech gets older it will serve as a timestamp so to speak for what the price was at X time used and for the quality of how it aged overall as a product. Thoughts from others?
  2. This may or may not fit here but knowing how picky/specific Linus is about stuff that is food or food related I feel pretty confident that AG1 is good but my only complaint/suggestion is that I wish that they sold sample/1 serving bags for $5/$10 so you can taste it without buying nearly $100 worth of product. I know that they have a money back guarantee and money isn't the whole issue BUT I don't want to try it and if I don't like the flavor I'd not want to waste all that product.
  3. According to the founder he said an app to use other apps wasn't really practical, which kinda makes sense from a development standpoint.
  4. Update: let me preface this with idk how accurate this but here's a report that the company sold out of its unit of the rabbit R1 in 1 day which was 10k units https://www.theverge.com/2024/1/10/24033498/rabbit-r1-sold-out-ces-ai
  5. from the article it seems like they're aiming for a personal assistant that can use apps for you so you can have less screen time (hopefully that's the goal at least)
  6. Summary The Rabbit R1 is a new type of personal assistant that might one day replace the use of a smart phone. It runs a new kind AI they call a Large Action Model because it was trained on people using apps instead of language models. Quotes My thoughts This looks super promising and really cool but it is really early on in development to know if this is going be as good as they make it sound but what is everyone's thoughts on this? 7. My wife grew up with several different consoles snes, nes, GameCube, Atari, and a few others and I didn't but I'm more technically knowledgeable but I only know PCs, never had a console in my life. I'm trying to get some kind of all in one for all the old games so that she can relive the nostalgia and show our kid those games too. My big thing is that I just don't want to spend the time/money on finding working consoles and old working games. Then I remembered watching this video from ltt earlier this year and went back and watched it again to see if there was any details about setup or which one worked best out of the box. I also wanted to make sure whenever my wife wanted to play that it would just work without me needing to always tinker with it. I found some of them from the LTT video online but a lot of the reviews are either fake (for completely different items) or said it was hard to set up or just wouldn't work. Therefore I figured I'd ask her for some recommendations on this.
  8. LTT Video i-tried-6-pirate-game-consoles-from-aliexpress I'm looking into something like one of these retro machines, considering the video didn't go into detailed setup for each one, which one would be recommended for just plug n play? I see a bunch of these no name brands on amazon but a lot of the reviews are either fake (item swapping) or saying it took a lot of tinkering to get working (if at all), preferably I'd like one with 4 wired controllers not wireless and at least have all the old Nintendo games all in one but tons more too if possible. I'm not against android tv versions or linux/ras pi, and honestly I won't even be connecting it to the web so I'm not even worried about malware because I won't be connecting anything to it. Just looking for the simplest option with the most games and the least setup or at least the least amount of tinkering would be nice. Also, in the community standard, I wasn't 100% sure if asking for these kind of recommendations goes against the piracy rules, so if it is against the rules please delete this post

  10. After some more reading (from my understanding popos is backed by a huge company and has a larger userbase if I run into issues, even tho Nobara sounds epic and one of guys keeping it going is a main Linux dev, and that it is more bleeding edge than popos) I think I'll stick with popos and get my bearings and playing some games and figure out modding (especially for bg3 and elder scrolls games) then maybe later try out Nobara. Now if I'm wrong about any of this please tell me, the reddit posts I read some of this from were 8mo-1.5yr old
  11. That's actually really cool. So basically a modded version of the Linux that valve ships with the steam deck, so that means I could follow if it's deck verified it would work on this distro basically out of the box? The more I read about this, the more I'm wanting to switch to it and not popos
  12. so let me start with I consider myself fairly computer savvy because I've always been the guy in my friend and family group to answer tech questions and build computers. Also I know how to use Google to answer most of my questions that I don't know off the top of my head. so now with that out of the way, my current PC specs is a Ryzen 5 5800x, 64gb ram, rtx 2080ti. and my main uses for this PC is to run a Plex server and for gaming with an emphasis on modding (Nexus mods is 2nd home online) currently or recently playing or just like a bunch baldurs gate 3, Hogwarts legacy, tes oblivion/Morrowind, Middle Earth shadow of war/Mordor, any assassins creed games, witcher games, mount and blade warband/bannerlord and pretty much all of those with mods/modding. and before I take the plunge I want to know if I can mod games and use vortex and/or other mod managers for modding on linux so to bedrock of my question. I've been toying with popos on and off on a flash drive to see how it is but haven't took the plunge to install it yet since the Linux challenge videos and I've watched a few YT videos about Garuda recently and it has piqued my curiosity for gaming purposes and I was thinking mint as an option. but I am here to ask the experts/veterans of Linux what they think would be my best distro because I am kinda overwhelmed by how many there are...and I do not want to be a distro hopper, I want to just pick one and stick with it. I hop around on too many different ROMs on Android devices and don't want to be that way on my primary desktop PC. But I'm not opposed to trying a distro before I install and setup everything on it.
  13. So as the title says, I have a pixel fold rocking a dbrand grip case with skin and I want to use magsafe stuff. Now I know the obvious answer is to just put a magsafe ring on the back of the case and call it done, the thing is that I don't want to cover my skin at all if I don't have an accessory on it. So I've tried a couple name brand and off brand magsafe sticker magnets and none are strong enough to work through the case with any reliability. So if there isn't one to buy, that you guys know of, I could always make one. In the past on other phones I Jerry rigged together a really cool metal ring grip thingy with a strong spring loaded holder so I could have something similar to a pop socket but with more usability and could rotate and bend freely and prop up the device without needing it to be permanently stuck to the phone. For anyone curious, I'll leave a pic of that on the post. Back to magsafe, I don't use wireless charging so it won't affect the phone that way but how badly would a magnet strong enough to hold through the case be on signal strength? I am by no means an engineer so I'm coming here where some engineers are. And I'm willing to accept that my goals aren't an option, I just want to be completely certain that it's a waste of time and effort before I decide to give up or try something else.
  14. I have an idea for 1 or 2 videos, kid friendly or kid proof computer peripherals (keyboard, mouse, headphones, etc.) And a budget version of the same. What got me thinking about this is that within the past couple months I built my wife her first desktop after years of laptop use and my kid is almost 3 and she was very interested in what I was doing. So I decided in a couple years I'd buy the parts for a basic machine and have her do most of the building but it got me thinking. Do I buy a cheap $10 keyboard and just replace it a bunch of should I look for something kid proof? And the same goes for all of it except the tower.
  15. Fixed sorry. Mostly close to the budget of already picked stuff or 850 max ish
