  1. I have an EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra and a RTX 3090 FE and the performance difference between them in Cyberpunk is minor especially when you adjust for cost HOWEVER unless you have been living under a rock, GPU stock, lockdowns, US tariffs, increased shipping costs, and now mining has made getting any GPU but especially the more in demand RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT equivalent very hard if not impossible. I have actually had the most luck getting RTX 3090 FE from Best Buy. Now to be frank the RTX 3090 FE is NOT worth $1500, kind of like a RTX 2080 Ti was worth $1200, but everyone bought them in droves. You can rationalize the RTX 3090 because it's the fastest consumer card, it's only* $300 more than a RTX 2080 Ti was yet has much better performance, it has a whopping 24Gb of memory, or the fact that it's one of the more easier cards to get. Again the RTX 3090 is not worth $1500 and is a complete money grab by Nvidia however when your choices are nothing, overpriced last gen parts, or paying MSRP for an overpriced GPU but is the fastest card, most people would pick the overpriced card if they can afford it
  2. Idle from a cold boot I am getting a low as 24 degree on my RTX 3090 FE and while gaming 1080P 240Hz Ultra settings getting 60-66 degrees
  3. Highly unlikely they release a RTX 3090 Super or Ti for the reasons you gave, but like you alluded to there is room for a Titan version with more memory and unlocked Titan drivers
  4. Depends on the model and if the warranty is transferable I wouldn't pay anymore than $500 for a RTX 2080 Ti unless it was some King Pin Edition. Frankly I would aim for $400+. Now with 3000/6000 out of stock, COVID lockdowns, mining, and tariffs and shipping costs, getting even a RTX 2080 Ti for $400-$600 might be hard
  5. There only a few games right now that can hit 10GB or exceed it. With this being said if you want to use this card at 3440x1440P or 4K for the next 5 years for the latest and greatest AAA title, than yeah that will become a problem. If you are playing the SIMS or something basic like Fortnite than yeah 10GB should be more than enough even at 4K.
  6. Most cards run on a 2+ year cycle, so if you want to wait for 4000 you are in for a wait unless you think inventory gets better within the next 6 months or you are waiting for Ti/Super variants
  7. I signed up for notifications on launch for the RTX 3080 and got notified on 11-12. So 56 days...
  8. I think consumers and even YouTubers like Tech Deals have been pedaling for sometime now that a RTX 3080 Ti is almost a done deal and immanent but from the latest leak their is one rumor stating that the RTX 3080 Ti has been cancelled for now. I am not saying it won't happen but until something is actually announced I don't really consider it true or realistic. People want to constantly say a 20GB RTX 3080 Ti would make the RTX 3090 useless and while the 3090 was never a great value, the projected RTX 3080 Ti would bare minimum have to be priced at $1000, with AIB cards being $1100+. At that point yes, the RTX 3080 Ti is a better value compared to the RTX 3090 but then becomes just a slightly better RX 6900 XT which people also have deemed as a poor value and some YouTubers have deemed as the worse next gen card. Hypothetically is 5% better performance and 4GB of more memory worth $500* more if we compared RTX 3080 Ti projected MSRP to the RTX 3090? No but with lack of inventory, higher MSRP due to tariffs in the US and shipping costs, lockdowns, and the rerise of mining there are some people who could care less if they paid a $500 premium for a RTX 3090 over a RTX 3080 Ti since a lot of cards being scalped for upwards of a $500+ premium anyways, yet provide zero performance increase. Like everyone is saying the chances you or anyone else gets a RTX 3080 Ti if and when it launches is low, so if it means getting a RTX 3090 which in the end could be the end all be all card since its nearly the full die like how last gen yes the RTX 2080 Ti was $1200 but it was also the fastest non Titan card to be released for two years.
  9. I agree especially if it's 3440x1440 or some other higher end 1440P variant since then performance becomes very GPU dependent. I will say I run a 5600X on my console system on a 240Hz 1080P monitor and in my main system I run a 5900X but use that to stream
  10. depends on how long you want to wait with a bunch of next gen games coming out in Q4 I personally wouldn't want to "wait" but that's just me.
  11. a drivers update fixed that issue but yeah it was mostly when certain cards boosted too high while being overclocked personally get whatever RTX 3080 you can find. Availability has been horrid. I missed out at launch and bought a scalped RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra but signed up for notifications and just got notified about products being held for me to purchase on November 12. So it took almost two months for EVGA to fulfill launch day notification orders.
  12. The lower tier capacitors causing crashes at higher clocks has NOT been verified. Multiple sources have had FE and ASUS cards crash too and I personally have a EVGA RTX 3080 XC Ultra which uses a mix of capacitors and it 100% fine with an OC. This whole narrative that 10GB isn't enough is bull. Yes it's sad to see it's less than what you would get with a RTX 2080 Ti, but you got to remember most people play at 1080P, at 1440P there really isn't a game that 10GB isn't enough, and at 4K maybe there is what 2 games that 10GB starts to possibly become a problem? IMO it's just a simple case of FOMO. Also with the shortage of cards for the foreseeable future a RTX 3080 will be worth MSRP or even above for quite sometime. Also a RTX 3080 doesn't degrade in performance in a couple years just something better might come out, so with that being said if a RTX 3080 fits your budget and system now and gives you the performance you like at the resolution you play it should last for the foreseeable future. This is a clear case of OP just having FOMO and in the end deciding not buy or support a card in the end is great because they fear items that aren't released, tested, or have any merit for buying as of today
  13. You will be waiting either way since the RTX 3070 will instantly sellout...
  14. Everyone seems ok with the RTX 3090 being underwhelming by justifying it just as another "Titan" Prosumer card, however if we look back on how the RTX 3090 was marketed more as a gaming GPU I think the mediocre gains compared to the RTX 3080 is even more glaring * First the RTX 3090 was released at the GeForce event normally centered around "gaming" cards while normally Titan cards were released separately * Jensen never claimed that the RTX 3090 was a Titan replacement but rather that the demand for a Prosumer Titan card had been more than expected so they built a RTX 3090 * The card while expensive at $1500 is only* $300 more than a previous gen RTX 2080 Ti and $1000 less than a Titan RTX * The design language and styling is identical to the RTX 3080 but only larger * Pairing the RTX 3080 with 10GB of memory and the RTX 3090 with 24GB was no mistake. It's clear that most people have the false notion that more memory equals better performance, thus giving the RTX 3080 1GB less than the previous gen RTX 2080 Ti has created this crazy narrative if 10GB of memory is enough. Most consumers at this point would assume that the RTX 3090 was just another tier of RTX 3000 not a special Prosumer card * The card was marketed as a 8K gaming card from the streamers they brought in play on a 8K LG TV or the Youtubers they paid to do prelaunch 8K gaming content * Nothing was mentioned during the launch about the RTX 3090 being a Prosumer card and how it faired for rendering or any other non gaming tasks Now the crazy thing is, it wasn't until a day before launch until Nvidia kind of walked all this back and put out a release saying how the RTX 3090 was more of a prosumer work card that could game and how you would only see 10%-15% increase over the RTX 3080 in gaming. In the end I think there still is room for a true Titan and I think Nvidia not only messed up the supply on the RTX 3080 and 3090 launch but on how they marketed the 3090
  15. buy the cheapest EVGA RTX card that will allow you to do the step up program
  16. haven't you heard SLI is dead lol Either way with little to no support by developers either what's the point?
  17. https://www.techspot.com/review/2105-geforce-rtx-3090/ RTX 3090 is only % better than RTX 3080 in a 14 game average at Ultra settings 1080P 5% 1440P 8% 4k 11% So RTX 3080 actually a great value if you can find at $700 or so, RTX 3090 bad value but still a better value compared to the RTX 2080 Ti when launched at $1200 So yeah who wouldn't want a RTX 3090? But at $800 more than a RTX 3080 you could just buy two RTX 3080 or use the money to upgrade a lot of your system. Sure there will be some people who do use the RTX 3090 for "work" and at $1500 the memory you get is a steal and if you are one of those people who just wants the best of the best or has a 8K TV then yeah sure the RTX 3090 makes sense. But at this point the fact that we have to think of caveats to justify the RTX 3090 is more telling, kind of like we did with the RTX 2080 Ti...
  18. yeah sorry for the confusing question lol but that kind of answers it. I am pretty sold getting a 3700X now since I can get a new one for $260 a microcenter or used closer to $200 and the lowest a 2700X dropped was $220 I think. Sure the 4700X could be even better but... will got the full $350 Again the next gen card would go into my main system, the console replacement system would get my current RTX 2080 Ti.
  19. I should note My main system 100% will get a next gen card, the question is what kind of card should go into my console build: reusing my RTX 2080 Ti but that means waiting until Sept or putting in a 2070 S or 5700 XT now.
  20. I currently have a NCase M1 with a 3950X and RTX 2080 Ti, but I decided to start to plan/build a console replacement in a Sliger Conswole. So far I have ordered or have: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/jrasero/saved/TLjPVn My plan was to upgrade my GPU to whatever next gen high end card in Sept and put the RTX 2080 Ti in the Conswole. I was hoping to use the upcoming 4700G now so I could build without a dedicated GPU but these chips aren't coming to consumers at the moment. So I guess I can sit on parts until September or I could try and find an used 3700X for cheap and a RTX 2070 Super or 5700 XT and use that right now. I guess my question is how will a 3700X and RTX 2070 Super/5700 XT compare to a next gen console? Or should I just wait and put my RTX 2080 Ti in there and a 3700X/4700X? I could always build now and sell the console GPU to offset the next gen GPU if that makes sense.
  21. I can't attest to the seller but the card is a really great. In the US it's only $10 above reference at $400 and to get a back plate, dual fans, dual bios, and have it run cool and fairly quiet is pretty amazing for what it can do. Really paying anymore for a 5700 XT is just excessive since then at that point your are paying for aesthetics or marginal performance increases
  22. yeah thought that was odd. I easily got 30-40 more frames on my GTX 1080 Ti compared to my previous 1080. GTX 1080 Ti still a heck of a card
  23. 5600XT hands down but with the caveat that you might have to deal with flashing the BIOS and secondly the drivers for AMD just aren't as good as Nvidia's
  24. I only buy EVGA nvidia cards but that's my thing
