  1. Gotcha, I learned my lesson. However, the hard drive was not my boot drive. And my boot drive continued to work after destroying the other PSU and my HDD. I didn't change anything else in the build before this. I just unplugged my current monitor and plugged in my new one and I can't get output anymore on any of my displays. Not even BIOS.
  2. Yes, I plugged the hard drive in and it immediately began to smoke, so I scrambled to unplug it. And yes I did use the EVGA cables with the different PSU. Hence probably why it began to smoke, but I thought that the cables couldn't be that different.
  3. Hi y'all, I recently had my PSU die and got sent a refurbished unit from EVGA. PC was working fine with the refurbed PSU. I decided to buy a new monitor and now I can't seem to get a picture on any of my monitors. Tried using on-board GPU no picture at all ports along with on the GPU. All monitors work and have been tested with my laptop for confirmation. Upon starting the PC I get LEDs on my GPU and the CPU fan and case fans spin. Here is my current build I replaced my Acer monitor with Samsung's 49" Odyssey OLED G9 Gaming Monitor G93SC. I don't have another Intel processor to test the board. So I am curious if there is anything I can do to confirm that the motherboard is dead or not. Or maybe the CPU got fried? I should also note that while waiting for my replacement PSU I used an old PSU and got picture on to confirm that the PSU was dead. After that I went to plug in my fan controller and a hard drive and the hard drive began to smoke and I lost picture. However, things were back to working with the new PSU. If anyone can guide me to a fix that would be great. Otherwise I will start interacting the the manufacture of my motherboard. Thanks and best wishes, Lazycat619
  4. Given my current build do you think it is worth it to upgrade the CPU or is my system already GPU bound because of the resolution? Thanks!
  5. Hey y'all, I am looking to upgrade my current CPU to either the 5800X3D or the 5900X. I play games such as Hearts of Iron IV, Arma 3, Forza Horizon 5, and Ready or Not. The 5900X is $320 and the 5800X3D is $300. I play at 3440x1440 (think between 2k and 4k) preferably at 100hz. Current PC: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zghnJM Thanks!
  6. It is the same type of buzzing I used to get with BSOD on another computer.
  7. My router is about a foot from my PC and about 2 feet from my speakers and external amp. And my phone is in my pocket. But the buzzing coincided with me splitting my screen using task viewer.
  8. I am also getting this error every couple of minutes or so https://pastebin.com/DWxnDdXQ Maybe this has something to do with it?
  9. The buzzing coincided with me using task view to put two windows side by side. I know that onboard audio isn't the best but I am using an ix apex with an external amp plugged into it. Do you think that it could still be caused by that?
  10. Buzzing sound came from speakers briefly for no reason. Checked event viewer and got this https://pastebin.com/G2yEscyb Any idea why it was caused and how I can fix it? Thanks
  11. Although this isn't practical you could try buying a cheapo power supply just to power the gpu. But it seems like you don't have a lot of choices to be honest. it is a little bit out of my range of expertise lmao.
  12. Does the power supply you are using have a part number on it somewhere? I can get an idea of what we are dealing with maybe then.
  13. That is correct some boards come with a flashback feature which means that you can enter the boards bios without a processor in the boards socket. Some distributors such as Microcenter update there boards aswell you can ask them if it isn't to update it too I believe.
  14. If you are running Windows 10 the Microsoft store should already be installed on your system.
