It does solve the tearing , I just own a 144hz benq monitor not too long ago , probably just a week or two now , It is really that much smoother compared to 60hz , I tried going back to 60hz just to try it out , my gosh it is very jerky. I don't think I can go back to 60hz now lol. I'm LEM on CSGO though , hopefully I'll be able to put it into good use!

What about LEM , 2.7+k hours and a 60hz tn monitor? Also , I'm currently using a HD7850 + i5 3570 , while it runs more than enough for 144hz on 1366x768 , I'll probably run it on that reso when I'm getting one of the BenQ 144hz monitors , reason being don't think it'll be enough to run 1080p and also takes time to adapt to the new resolution / sensitivity.

Also I would like to know if it's going to be worth it to be spending that much for a monitor that's "TN" when I hearing that IPS 144hz are coming soon , just that those aren't 1080p. Though I'm quite sure that it's going to be extremely pricey once those come out. The BenQ XL2420z cost $423+ directly converted , here.

I just recently got the BenQ 2420z , and yes there's a way to check if it's newer than V1 firmware , on the box there's a MFG (manufacturing) date , mine's July. I heard from March onwards its quite safe to say its V2.

It's definitely a great monitor , super smooth compared to 60hz , though the I have not calibrated the colours and whatnot , and maybe due to that , I'm seeing some blotch of darker shades of colours in videos , also there's slight greenish hue to some dimly lit photos that I've encountered , slightly annoying , but oh well , its 144hz and its great for gaming which I primarily use it for.

I wouldn't want the 290 series though , the fact that its too hot and where I'm living in a tropical climate place lol.

hahnn reacted to jaypro in Anyone else want lower production value on some of Linus' videos?
Before you call me crazy for asking for lower production value, read my explanation or at least the TL;DR

Back in the earlier "unboxing" days, Linus was able to pump out multiple videos a day, whereas now it seems to have become ~1 video a day, with a larger team behind him.  I assume this is due to the high ramp up in production value, having to write scripts, using teleprompters, cute editing, fancy cinematography, etc.  However, it seems that Linus and co try to apply this higher production value to all of their videos across the board, and I think that if they were to scale back to have a quicker turnaround time, it would be beneficial to the viewer.

From my viewpoint at least, there are two reasons I tune into Linus' channel.

The first reason is I plan on buying X product, and I check if he has made a review on it.  For these reviews, I appreciate the higher quality videos, with more in-depth reviews and opinions.

The second reason I watch videos is to learn about products I have never heard about before, that interest me to see what it is and what it does, and whether or not I impulse buy it.  Products like that book lamp.  It seems the team spent an excessive amount of time on the book lamp.  The main purpose of the video, to me at least, was to make me aware of the product rather than to convince me to buy the product.
For these videos, I think Linus should go back to his older 'unboxing' style videos.  It is not that I don't value these "show-and-tell" type products, but the chances I buy a product that I was unaware of before and just learned about from Linus' video is slim.  Like finding a needle in a haystack.  Therefore quantity > quality.  Churn more of them out with a lower production value than your "Tier 1" products.

TL;DR Trade some production value on some less-big-market videos to make more videos.

Hello! I'm trying to get one of the better headphones than my previous crappy Razer ones , grown tired out of gaming companies and their gaming products. Anyway , How much would you guys are willing to overpay for models listed in the title. I've done quite a bit of research and found out its basically using the same drivers as HD558 and just slapped on with a mic. I'm not really an audiophile or what not , as I'm quite okay with the crappy Razer ones , since it's spoilt I wanted to get one of the better sounding headphones preferable with a mic , thats why I've rounded things up to those options from Sennheisers only since there are a lot of great reviews about it. Pretty sure if I get it , i'll be pretty please with it. Only thing bugging me now is the overpricing of the products.

Do note that the place I'm at now , is quite difficult to find products such as Sennheisers , AKG , ATH and so on. Very very scarce , the only authorised online seller for Senns here is selling the above mentioned headphones quite expensively , PC 360 for 331.46USD , PC 363D for 371.19USD and the G4ME One cost 276.27USD , HD558 costing lesser for 242USD. Bare in mind that all of the prices are converted from MYR to USD via Google converter. Quite overpriced as compared when i've seen in Amazon

Oh and also , I'm a very avid gamer , mostly FPS games.  If all else fails , I might just have to settle in for the "Gaming" headphones that's available anywhere , Siberia V2 Frost for about 151.33USD

Thanks a lot in advance for your advises !
