Most of those that receive Patreon donations don't like this change, so Patreon is effectively putting words in the creator's mouths, which I hate.

I wonder what possessed Patreon to make these changes in the first place.  Perhaps it has something to do with taxes?

Also

Go ahead and see the dissatisfaction for yourself.

Patreon went full YouTube "fuck you I do what I want" attitude.

I know youtubers turn to them quite often as a fallback for when youtube screws them over, so for them to get screwed over by patreon as well now... it's gonna leave a lot of people looking for other options.

xD well then they went full retard very quickly

Doubt taxes had anything to do with it only projected profits, well add patreon to list of companies I'd chuckle if they went under

@Ryan_Vickers That makes it even worse, YouTubers can't seem to get a break, can they?

@AresKrieger Won't do them much good if they loose business out of disgust.

So whats next? Whats the other option now? Paypal donations? But that carries a fee when you cash out as well.....

Everyone just trying to make a living helping or entertaining others are getting screwed now... Y'know why? Not part of a major corp. That's what I think. Because they're (mostly) independent its easy to screw them....

@8uhbbhu8 YouTube content creators aren't technically employees, because of that, YouTube doesn't need to give their content creators the same level of protections that those working a "real job" would receive.

ADs don't even pay that well, 5000 views equate to about 13 cents, and you don't get a check unless you make at least $100.00

The only reason that people choose YouTube as a full time job is due to the passion, something that YouTube uses to take advantage of their content creators, which is disgusting.

All we need is a viable alternative.  Then YouTube will get their act together.

@Cinnabar Sonar I hope one comes along. Although we've been saying and thinking that for years :P Floatplane will be a nice paid alternative for some but it will be very very very limited.
