  1. In Sweden they have set a cap on 2 card per household on it and the retailers are not allowed to force out higher prices then MSRP. Now I am in the US and I was buying parts in December to build my new computer, I bought motherboard, M.2, and ram. Problem was I did not expect to have to wait 3,5 months to get my hands on MSRP R5 5600X, tried to build it together last night, turns out that the mobo is not functioning and needs to get replaced. This will be a very interesting outcome, since it has never been used but I owned it for 4 months, let´s see what Gigabyte does.
  2. Hi all, this is a very weird request, but it is a serious one. About 2 months ago we where approved and ready to go from Sweden to Florida to study for about 3 years. I had it all planned out, even shipped over some computer parts that we could use here. I planned to buy 4 psu 3 cases and one motherboard+cpu+memory and a hard drive. This was because I had to leave one computer to my kids biological mother, so they could communicate every day/week. What I did not know about the US , is that they all want a deposit for every thing, this means I have no funds to buy what I was hoping on. So I am looking for people in here that might have parts I can buy cheap or if they can and want to donate. What I Do not need or can afford is graphic cards. I will list what I need and hope to get help from my fellow computer and IT brothers and sisters. 1 CPU ( Ryzen 5/7) for multitasking 1 Motherboard (that is compatible with CPU) 16Gb memory matching CPU/Motherboard 3 cases all of them with usb3 front ports 4 PSU modular and above 600w 2 AIO for amd +3 socket and LGA 1155. i know this is a long list, but I hope people will help out. kindest regards Leon Strand
  3. I think this is a sign how desperate Intel are, they don’t want to change or take responsibility for their actions. For years Intel has been the leading company when it comes to the quality and performance on their CPU´s and they know it, but they have been so greedy that they have given us “new” generations of CPU´s for years paying more and more for less performance/$. This is because they thought that since they were on top of this they could just enjoy the control on the market. AMD shows up with a new line, that are not as strong as Intel but close enough with about 90%-95% performance, to half the price of Intel CPU line. Of course that makes loads of consumers to go “I think I will buy the Ryzen 5 or 7 series, I can afford a better GPU with more VRAM with that saved money”. This also goes for the companies like HP, Lenovo, Asus etc., These companies buy´s in bulk and if they can sell a laptop with almost the same performance as it had Intel CPU with lower production costs and same retail price they will do it, they also want to earn money. The reason I think this is a really ugly scam done by Intel is simple, they are trying to scare the group of users that does not have that high knowledge as we have here on Linus tech tips forum. Most companies hire IT-Engineers and consultants that knows how to configure and setup servers and clients, but they don’t have knowledge on hardware as we (Yes I mean you and me and the others here). So when they hear that hardware with security issues they don’t look it up and look into what actually is said about the issue. They turn to their supplier of clients and servers and say “I can’t have that we need Intel CPU for security reasons”, and keep in mind most companies around the world buys their clients and servers from IBM, Hewlett Packard and many other companies like this that buys in bulk. Now they are spending money on trying to save their market doing this kind of ugly stuff, instead of spending the money on actually create and develop better CPU to lower costs for consumers. My English is not so great but I hope you understand what I want to have said.
  4. Well I will go with a different approach then the most here, since you want the computer to be lasting longer and manage multitasking for streaming etc. I have made a quick build from the site you were using, and this is what I would have built for that type of usage you want, but I changed out the 750 TI for a GTX 1060 because it is a huge upgrade graphic wise. The extra $50 will give you a card that is about 200% better, the Ryzen R5 1600 is more a stronger “workbench” for you then the i7 6700. I changed the PSU because you want a better quality on it and better for cable management, and cases are important even if many people forget to tell you. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3FWhcc this is the setup I did it will be a bit over the budget by $38, but you will be a lot better with this setup for the next 3 years.
