Gazelem reacted to Pyrii in RAM compatibility question
Problem is, die/controller differences might cause issues and slow down the RAM as a whole. If speed isn't an issue and don't mind the performance hit of mismatched sticks then you're okay.

Cas latency is a timing. It's considered the most significant timing, and most timings will be grouped under a given cas latency

He wanted some types that would be compatible, not a yes...

Gazelem got a reaction from ArduinoBen in 1080p on 4k monitor
So I guess the real question is: how do you check if a 4k monitor does a good job interpolating 1080p (or doesn't use interpolation for that resolution because it is smart) before buying the monitor?

I just realized the sticky titled "Display Technology FAQ/Mythbuster" at the top of this display section of the forums has a section on this topic. Still trying to absorb the info in it though and figure out if there are ways around the issues.

I have the same question. Found a lot of differing opinions on the internet. There are two main camps.
1) Those that point out that 4k (3840x2160) is twice the horizontal and vertical resolutions of 1080p (and thus 4 times the pixels) so theoretically a 4k monitor could show 1080p with 4 pixels acting like one.
2) Those that have had issues trying to do this and say it is crap and doesn't work and you shouldn't try.
Some say it depends on the monitor or the upscaling it uses. I am looking at buying this LG 4k monitor because it seems like an awesome deal, but want to figure this out before I buy it.

Copied from the sticky:
"Does 1920×1080 scale perfectly on 3840×2160 (4K UHD) monitors? What exactly happens when you run a non-native resolution on a display?"

They're just different types of panels.

Gazelem got a reaction from IAR117 in Is 24 inches too small for 1440p?
I will add my opinion in unison with everyone else who said 24 inches is fine. Depending on your preferences and how far you will be from the monitor of course. I work on a 13 inch laptop or a 17 inch laptop most of the time though, so to me 24 inches is huge. Haha.

I don't think they should be "much" more expensive, but they might be a little extra, however then I'd say get a good "main" monitor and a bit of a cheap 2nd one. When I actually took a course at university in programming I had one friend that had a small monitor that he could rotate, (or it might have been one that he had unfastened from it's mount just leaned up against the wall) and I remember how much I wanted to have that as well, because it was really convenient when you were reviewing the code.
Should you need more RAM, it's super easy to upgrade, so it's something you can get in 4-5 years no problem.

If you are getting pro, you need to buy or find an installation media online. Windows does not officially give away windows 10 pro like they do windows 10 home (not activated as in you still need a key). I personally got a installation media containing all (except interprise and server) versions of windows 10 for 30$ on Amazon. However that was custom made by the seller, so I can not link to it unfortunately. Good luck and game on!!
