Let's say a PC restarts while playing games, what could be the problem?

You got no scoped from across the map and hit it too hard

Something overheating, a driver issue, power draw from PSU. I had this same exact restart issue but it would not start up again until after a minute or so & the problem was 3 of the capacitors near the audio chip in my mobo was swollen well beyond it's original size. repaired that & it went back to normal.

I'm using the latest GPU driver.

Hopefully it's just a simple PSU issue.

PC restarts while an application is running -> probably Windows, imo.

I just have to blame Windows for everything.

I logged the temps. from when I started a game until it crashed and the CPU didn't get to 50°C, while the GPU reached a max of 67°C, so I guess that narrows it down to the PSU.

I usually change my settings in Windows so when it blue screens, it doesn't automatically restart.  Therefore, if my PC restarts spontaneously, it's much more likely a power issue.

I was going to turn off automatic restarts, but i wanted to log the temps. before that. Might do so if I feel like testing it again.

Is there anything in the event logs besides 41

I used an app called open hardware monitor, so it has all the temps., fan speeds, voltages, etc.

It's all in an excel file.

    I meant the Windows logs...

Might point to a driver or other process.

Didn't look into windows logs, only the one I made with that monitor.

Just looked at the critical logs, all of them are 41.

    Look at all those reboots.

Might get a new PSU next month, so I guess it's a good thing I still didn't finish with my finals lol.

Nothing in the Application logs either I take it? Errors or warnings too

Nothing relevant from warnings and application logs.

    Did you get it sussed?

I don't have the money to go out and buy a new PSU just to test it out, so I still haven't verified if that's the issue or if it's something else.

Gonna run aida64 later just to check if it does it, but till now I've noticed it rebooting when running the 3 games that I tested (dragon age inquisition, forza horizon 4 and warhammer chaosbane), bet even then, it's a coin toss; sometimes the game works fine, sometimes the PC reboots, it's always a coin toss.

Ran aida64 and stressed everything but the local drives for around 6 minutes, nothing happened. For context, sometimes the PC will reboot even though the game is loading.
