That's why I'm thinking fresh windows install. I was going down the PSU path thinking Windows was freshly installed. I misread that in the first couple posts.

Just to explain what I'm seeing on the HWInfo log with the graphics card. I moved the perf cap reason to be next to the overall wattage of the graphics card.
That could be drivers, angry windows or an angry power supply.
A fresh install with everything deleted would be best. That is the best way to get rid of anything from old systems in your files. That being said, a person could just install their new m.2 drive, put windows on that and Tarkov on that. Unplug the other drives so they can't conflict. If they get no stuttering, and plugging the other drives back in brings the stutters back, you know they need to get wiped at some point. The only thing that would get a bit angry potentially is the SSD that currently has Windows on it. I'd add that one separately assuming it's also the one holding drivers.

If it works it works.  I’m not a big fan of cloning drives because old HDs tend to have cruft on them and when you clone you copy the cruft too. With cloning it’s less work unless it screws up in which case it is more work.

It might fix it.  I don’t know what the problem is for sure or I’d tell you.  A reinstall makes the OS known good, the thing also amounts to a drive swap so the drive is then know good too.  so it removes a couple of unknowns.  Also SSDs are really nice.  They’re multiple times faster than hard drives and for OSes that get read a lot more than they get written to they can last a really long time.  Much longer than a hard drive.  I kinda don’t want to get in the way of that one because they make amazing speed improvements which you will like.

Simulating Fire can include a lot of fast moving polygons depending on how you do it.this really shouldn’t be an out-of-memory switching to page file thing, but I guess it’s not impossible.  Do have a hot case by any chance?

Hmm.. if its that big a mess it might use a lot of memory.  Bad programming can do that.   I still think it’s unlikely but it’s not impossible.

That I had not heard.  So some games are pushing past 16gb then.  I was under the impression that a bit more than half of a16gb kit got functionally used by the game, and the reason to get 16gb was 10 was not available.  Could be some of these people are putting in more memory and claiming improvements might have gotten it simply by opening the case and reseating cables.  That’s a useful step perhaps btw.  This 32gb thing interests me though.  Wasn’t expecting that one for at least a year or two.

I doubt the ram will help, but the clean install on a faster HD might.

How much do you have?  If it’s 8gb it’s possible the you’re using page file.  If you’ve got 16gb though you are likely fine.

That’s a clean install.  Seems extreme but it can’t hurt.

Something less extreme could be tried first.  Iirc there is a one button option called “refresh” that partially reinstalls the OS files but leaves everything else alone.

Benchmarking software tends to use older systems and apparently isn’t hitting the thing that is the problem.  Supports that “refresh” option.

Tarkov has a rep for disliking AMD CPUs I dunno why.  This is in keeping though.  The other stuff not so much.  The thing about stutter is so very many things can cause it.  It’s a “this computer works, but only barely” kind of thing, and there are a lot of things that can do that.  Basically anything that might shutdown a computer but in a less extreme form, plus a whole pile of other stuff.  One I heard about was a guy was partially occluding only one fan of a video card with a skelotonized wifi card.  The wifi card was working and wasn’t even registering high temps.  Moving the card down a slot made it go away.  It could also be an interaction with other software, or any number of other things.

The number of note on this one I think is the 99% on the gpu.  Not sure what it refers to.

Does it regularly stutter in HLL now? If so, Hwinfo64 has a logging feature. Can you grab about 30 seconds of logs around the stutters and attach here? I'm curious if it's actually a power delivery problem.
What I'm thinking is happening is that you have a 7 year old power supply. With your old Xeon you weren't pushing the 1070 hard enough to use as much power as it is now. Pushing the 1070 harder is making that CX-M show its age.

In MSI Afterburner, what do you have showing in your overlay for the GPU? Temp, usage, memory usage and?

Voltage for the graphics card of its rated TDP. What power supply do you have? What graphics card is this? I don't remember catching this one in the thread yet.

So in HLL it's spiking up and down from 99% GPU usage it looks like. Is HWInfo showing anything for red warnings on the GPU?

I need to do that test too then.  Not that I can put more memory in the thing because it’s ddr3, but it would be interesting to know.  With just loading in with no game running it could be just using your remaining memory as OS cache though because the OS likes to run as fast as it can. So it may not mean much.  The game yeast will be the proof of the pudding.  The number that will really matter is how many page file writes you do.

That would be running out of memory.  I’ll be damned.  Looks like 32gb really is needed.

Just a heads up, there will be a lot of stuff in there. It'll tell you stats on basically every hardware, voltages, temps, way more than you need. CPU, RAM and GPU are all that really matter here.
You are running off an SSD right? Is Tarkov running off the external drive? If Tarkov is on the external drive try moving it to another drive in your system. Just that alone might clear up your stuttering. How much space in all are you using on all your drives and how much space do you have on them. I know you have the 2x2tb drives and the 2 external. Are you at 6tb? And what drive is your OS on? What kind of drives are the 2 2tb drives? 3.5?

Before you buy parts, download HWinfo64 and start it in sensors only mode. Then play Tarkov. Does anything show up as red? Feel free to grab pictures and put them in a spoiler
