  1. I'd like to just point out that this looks to be for the insider ring, you can tell because it says "evaluation copy". Hopefully it won't be a thing in the production version that ships to customers. That said I do believe they'll be adding a warning about not meeting the minimum requirements in the settings app.
  2. Assuming that the solder between the IHS and cpu die is fine, and the voltage is set appropriately in the bios and nothing is messing with it in your os, then it should be the cooler or its fan. If you have a cooler that uses heat pipes or an AIO, the water could have evaporated out or pump died.
  3. If you have two circuits that are not supposed to be connected and they are then bridged by water, the electricity could flow from one circuit to the other and overload whatever is on the other side. Ie. You short circuit something. The damage would vary depending on what exactly happened. For USB, depending on the connector it may or may not work after. It could just not work properly. For wet hands I don't think it would be a big deal (due to surface tension) unless you're forcing water to go down into the port. Rule of thumb, if you think you may have caused damage, don't risk it. Power off your device and wait until fully dry.
  4. Depends on if anything is bridged and if any electricity is running through those areas at the moment.
  5. I just got the display port adapter. Everything fits nicely but I need to make some adjustments to the model. I'll post links when they're ready. EDIT: Added models and updated pictures.
  6. I would but I'm still waiting for my riser and adapters to arrive. Just finished this yesterday.
  7. It'll be blocking pcie slots. I can use my Wi-Fi adapter because it's not too wide. But yes it doesn't go right against the side panel. So as long as you don't need those extra slots it's okay.
  8. Introduction: I always wanted to mount my GPU vertically ever since I first saw people do it. However, I already bought my case by then and was not going to upgrade anytime soon. I couldn't find any vertical mounts online so when I got a 3D printer last Christmas 2017 I decided to make my own. The mount works and is strong enough to hold my GPU. Printing: Prints in 3 parts. Part one - 20% infill, scaffolding. Part two - 100% infill, scaffolding. Part three - 100% infill, scaffolding. Notes: READ ME! You will need the following; 1x PCIE riser, 2x screws (holds gpu in place, no need to actually tighten anything), 90 degree upward DisplayPort or HDMI adapters. Ignore some of the random lines on the models, they shouldn't affect anything. They're just extra vertices from slicing/joining faces together. This was designed specifically for my PC. The important parts for this mod are as follows; Case: Corsair Graphite Series 760T GPU: ASUS Strix 980ti OC RAM: Corsair Vengeance LED MOBO: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 6 AIO: Corsair H100i v2 Wi-Fi Adapter: ASUS PCE-AC88 Pictures: License: Personal use only, No derivatives, Non-commercial (I don't want to see anyone selling my work) I say no derivatives but if it doesn't fit your PC then obviously I won't hold it against you. Only part that I will allow changing is part three, put your own logo or design on it. Give proper credit please, I spent a long time on this. If you printed this, and it works post pictures Vertical GPU Mount Part 1.stl Vertical GPU Mount Part 2.stl Vertical GPU Mount Part 3.stl
  9. Sounds like a bug to me. I'd look into rma. My strix 980ti oc doesn't turn on fans during idle. I know it's not the same but they both have high tdp and Maxwell isn't as good in thermals.
  10. Trust me it's not that simple or else it wouldn't be the China government edition. China has a history of mass surveillance in order to stop "rebellions". This would allow them to extend their reach. Choosing the encryption also means that they'll have a way to decrypt. Edit: Heck they even have a CCTV network in cities called Skynet.
  11. This is horrible. No government should have control over telemetry and encryption like this, especially not the Chinese government who would most likely use it to oppress their citizens.
  12. Why not just use fast sync from the Nvidia settings. Works pretty well for me.
  13. Then you'll have to rma it as it seems like a hardware problem imo.
  14. Boot into safe mode and completely remove the drivers using ddu. Then reboot into normal mode and try installing the GPU drivers from the manufacturer support website.
