Because 1 one you get a lot better bang for your buck than a razor blade. Also the 17 in one very heavy. I also use a Predator 15 and I think it is a great laptop.
-
Battery Life is a big thing also if you get a predator 15 you need a 17in bag so keep that in mind.
-
Thats why i say go to micro center to find a good laptop with long battery life. Also to see how loud it is.
-
I have a predator 15 I like it but the battery life is not long maybe 3 hours max. I suggest the razor blade. Find out if you live near a microcenter because I got my predator 15 for $1299. They also have a lot of other gaming laptops there like razor blades.

I built you a part list on pcpartpicker my idea with the part I chose is you will run raid 5 and it will be almost silent. Also it is $68 over budget but you can go to a cheaper case and cpu cooler. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fkMKQV

You could go to Home Dept or Lowes and look for cat 6,cat 5e
-
Buy a anti virus like malwarebytes try that becuse you could have a botnet virus and then see what your download speed is. Also let me know if it works or if it does not so i can help you more.

A couple of questions 1.What is the make and model number on your router this is usually found on the under side. 2. Are you using DSL,cable, dialup. 3.Do you have antivirus on your computer or android phone. 4. what time of day are you home like 5 pm- 7am or 1pm-7pm this way i know if you are home during peak internet times.

Just trying to cut down on cost. I was thinking about building cheap desktop computers.

I live in a rural area with verizon wireless being the main carrier so no one uses T-Mobile. When i went to my nearest T-Mobile store which is 50 mi away they looked it up and i was the only person on the T-mobile on the tower. So now my speeds where around 50-75 mbps and 5-10 mbps up

3 TB on T-Mobile and 3TB on home wireless broadband. If say why not use the home internet connection more. I have a load balancing router and T-Mobile is faster than my isp.

If you think mesh networking is a good option go for it but what I suggest is 1 AP for every 750 Square feet and a $50 router
