  1. So the only thing I changed was instead of HDMI to HDMI into my gpu I changed it from displayport on the gpu to hdmi on the monitor. So normally the colors are perfect. The bright version of my wallpaper is what I was used to and a second after everything is done booting it dims the background and turns into what you see there. I haven't switched anything back yet as its a pain to pull it everything out and get back there but I wanted to ask you guys as everything I've searched I cant find anything.
  2. It's the base model 12" MacBook which says: Retina display 12-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit display with IPS technology 2304-by-1440 resolution at 226 pixels per inch with support for millions of colors 16:10 aspect ratio Supported scaled resolutions: 1440 by 900 1280 by 800 1024 by 640 Dual display and video mirroring: simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 3840 by 2160 pixels at 30Hz on an external display, both at millions of colors. I dont mind 30hz while I'm using my MacBook. My gaming rig rig is an i5 6600K with a 1060 6GB which is running a 1080p right now. I want to be able to use 1 monitor for both. I was thinking an LGUD88 but for someone who is experienced in resolutions what would be best of both worlds?
  3. So I saw this setup https://i.ytimg.com/vi/bB4fh1dSEt0/maxresdefault.jpg and i loved the ultra wide monitor and he's running Windows 10 but also on the left of the picture he's got a MacBook which I have. I'm wanting to get a really nice monitor large to support both (not at the same time so to speak) my gaming rig and my MacBook. How would that work as far as I want to switch over different OS Rigs? What monitor would be beneficial for both what sizes? and 1080? 1440? 4k? 24"? 27"+? I just want a middle ground so they both look decent and somehow can switch over when I can.
  4. I have an i5-6600K with a evga 1060 6gb with a evga 550watt. I'm going to have the money but could I run an evga 1080 along side my 1060? And will my power supply be ok? Or would it be more beneficial to SLI and get another 1060?
  5. Unplug your graphics card and boot up and see if that works. Then if it is check the cables from the GPU to the power supply.
  6. Yes it's fully modular. It has motherboard, CPU, vga1, vga2, sata1, sata2, and perif1.
  7. So I just built my computer. Everything works and runs fine. My gpu is a evga 6gb 1060 ftw. My psu is an evga 550. The gpu only has one 8 pin connector and the psu has two 8 pin vga connectors. And a few branch off into 6+2 pins. I'm getting this error: "Please power down and connect the PCIe power cable(s) for the graphics cards" Ive connected everything into each other in any kind of way. With these cables that came from the psu what needs to be connected to what? Note: Connectors at the top are the 8 pin
  8. So I found these monitors, I'm going for light/casual gaming like I may play Skyrim when I can or games like Civilization IV, Sims 4, ya know smallish games I wouldn't want to feel a stutter or bit of lag playing. I'll also be using the monitor for programs, nothing too extensive. I just want a monitor to look good aesthetically and look good too i.e.: colors, contrast. I'm honestly assuming 1080p 60hz would be fine for me. My budget ultimately isn't too far past $300 If I can keep it under $300 that would be great as It's just a monitor to me. I don't know anymore, Ive been searching monitors like crazy the past month and it's insane. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BX3FCJG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01707HMEM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
  9. Not from my experience but users on the internet doing office work on a curved monitor doesn't seem logical because applications don't "line up" so to speak. I guess it's weird to explain, maybe someone can hop in here. Im looking for something that can be good for games but not hardcore but also regular work like Active Directory, web browsing, whatever.
  10. I'm slowly building it now but configurations are done. I'm in the us so now I just will need a monitor.
  11. I'm gonna be using a 6600k with an evga gtx 1060. There may be a budget of about $200. I've just been doing a lot of research I'd want an ips and to keep fps high I'd want to keep it 1080 because if I go 4K fps may drop I've heard. I guess I'd want to keep it 60hz but 144hz are more expensive but I'd like to have that. I love those ultra wide monitors but I can't afford that and speaking of price I can't fathom buying a monitor that's half as much as my PC. I have no idea. Can somebody point me on the right track?
  12. Hook it up in your living room tv and use it as a media center type thing. Otherwise idk you could sell it.
  13. I looked for some rules as some people might not like that it's advertising and I hope I don't get in trouble. Samsung 500GB SSD just went on sale on Amazon Prime for $129.99 which I think is a good deal especially with the holidays.
  14. I figured I didn't need that much power which I understand. I don't intend on overclocking (yet) I'm not going to be hardcore gaming I probably will time to time. So then just buy an CPU that can be overclocked? And the reason for the ssd is there are 2 trays on the front in the window so aesthetically it would look nice. I would definitely use 1 but I figure to fill up the othe tray I could buy another one just for installing and booting the system.
  15. Alright so I have an idea about a build. I'm getting the NZXT H440 Case with an MSI Z170A M5 Motherboard. That's a fact but everything else is just eyeballing what would be enough. I'm NOT going to be hardcore gaming but what I ultimately seek is "Speed" through the operating system (Windows 10) What are your thoughts on an 128gb SSD to boot and another 500gb to store whatever? Is there any things that I don't need or could improve on? This is just to start and I can always upgrade over the years.
