  1. I didn't see a thread describing my issue exactly so... I got a new MSI X99S SLI motherboard along with a new 5820k for my computer. It turns out that only the DIMM slots left of my CPU work and the 4 to the right cause issues. If I have ram in any of the slots on the right the computer will turn on, but not display anything or post. There is no beeping to indicate a RAM error, so I'm rather clueless at this point. The BIOS also shows there's 8 RAM slots. Should I just RMA it or am I missing some strange option to enable these slots?
  2. Not sure what exactly you mean by config it in sound, but I found a workaround that works for now. Upon closer inspection i may have scratched my mobo in the most precise spot to mess up the on board audio. Shit Anyways I have audio going through one of my monitors now. It looks like I wont be able to use motherboard audio till i get a new motherboard. The scratch could be purely superficial, but I can find no evidence to any other cause. Could This Thread be closed now? Never though I'd see the day I damage my motherboard like this. Goes to show that you should never work on a computer with practically no sleep for a few days. Now to go sit and sulk in my shame for pulling such a noob move
  3. So I just got my new gtx 970 to pair with my old one. I plug it in and get my pc up and running. Update Nvidia drivers to get SLI working, and I have no audio. My "Sound" window shows that my speakers aren't plugged in, only the Realtek Digital Audio S/PDIF outputs are working and it's using them. Same goes for my front audio port for my headset. To troubleshoot I have: -reinstalled brand new realtek driver's from mobo website -rollback nvidia drivers -uninstall new gpu -roll back realtek hd audio drivers -unplugged and replugged the front audio panel header on the mobo Specs: ASUS Sabertooth 990fx Gen3/R2.0 2x Gigabyte GTX 970 AMD FX8350 16Gb RAM Windows 10 64-bit I am clueless as for what to do now. There's no way to force it to try to use the speaker or front audio panel either.

  5. So based on the investment of new equipment to help the loop, are we likely to see a similar water cooling setup in the new place?
  6. I would build a new PC and give away my old parts to friends who need them!
  7. I'm perfectly fine with his reviewing of enthusiast-grade hardware. It's extremely interesting to see what top end hardware is capable of (This statement is backed up by view counts). But I kind of understanding what the OP is getting at. The Paper airplane video should have been on channel superfun. I do enjoy more low-key videos like case reviews, mid-grade videocard reviews (and builds featuring midgrade hardware). maybe there should be a divergence of the content made. Like exclusively PC tech should be on a channel by itself.
  8. They pretty much reviewed all the products on Channel Superfun, they just werent called reviews
  9. Great cards, really wanting to upgrade soon! The power efficiency and the overclockability make these some of the most exciting cards to come out in a long time
  10. 5930K benchmarks/ multi gpu performance please! I may be upgrading to this next year and seeing it in action would be good. Heck, a multi gpu showdown between the 3 processors would be really nice (hint hint). Also benchmarks in cpu-bound games like Planetside 2 sound cool. EDIT: It would also be useful to see what is a good threshold for what it's worth upgrading from. especially for gamers.
  11. I really love the 2560x1440p display. It allows me to use the display for more than just one task with the dual window feature.
  12. i'm extremely excited for VR technology. Especially games specifically designed for VR. Horror games are going to be insane!
