  1. Thanks. Not a bad price, but think i want to go for an ultra wide. Currently on 2 x 27" monitors fancy a change
  2. On the market for a 3440 x 1440 monitor. I'm running a 980ti so I think this resolution will suit my card well. Generally these monitors are pretty pricey though. I've found this acer https://www.scan.co.uk/products/34-acer-b346ck-219-ultrawide-monitor-ah-ips-3440x1440-6ms-320cd-m-100m1-speakers-hdmi-vga-usb-hub?gclid=CjwKCAiAxuTQBRBmEiwAAkFF1uRmtMK5Ivk9YewnBly0_oNEbbZeby5g2nPs_a1vx6-MqbAnz8j6RRoCNIIQAvD_BwE for £420. Anyone recommend any other monitors with this res in that price range? Thanks.
  3. I am missing a SSD tray my for s340. Does anyone know where I could purchase one? I have tried Ebay, and have also contacted NZXT several times, but their customer service is pretty shocking. Any ideas? Just annoys me having one missing.
  4. I recently purchased a i5 7500, mines paired with a 980ti. Playing the witcher 3 at 4k with everything maxed I'm getting about 45 fps. I'd say the 7500 is a solid CPU. I wouldn't personally buy an older CPU currently due to the older architecture (ddr3 etc) but that's just me
  5. I recently purchased a i5 7500. According to specs it should be able to turbo boost up to 3.8ghz. I've been monitoring the cpu and it rarely gets to 3.7ghz. The cpu is watercooled, idles about 25 and under load 40. Is there something I need to change in bios to get the cpu to boost higher?
  6. Just wondering if anyone machine washes their mouse mat? I've got a corsair extended mouse mat that could do with a scrub but I don't want to ruin it. Hand wash or machine?
  7. I've got a s340, and i would recommend this case. Great for a budget and well built. https://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/cases/midtowercases/ph-ec416pstg_ag.html?gclid=CNblwdmK69ICFWso0wodE2cNbQ#utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=products This is also a nice case by Phanteks that could be worth considering.
  8. I had a similar issue not too long ago. After some troubleshooting it turned out my motherboard was slowly on its way out, ended a few weeks later when it wouldn't even boot to bios anymore. But this started as sometimes the mouse being unresponsive, keyboard not lighting up and external usb HDD losing connection etc. Try booting in safe mode, check if there are any issues. Is the keyboard or mouse becoming unresponsive in bios? That can help eliminate an os issue. Strip the pc to bare essentials (cpu, motherboard, one stick of RAM and essential peripherals; Mouse, keyboard only) Just to make sure no other devices are conflicting. Cant see it being a PSU issue but you never know... Luckily my i5 was 3rd gen with a simple motherboard so I just took it as a opportunity to upgrade to newer components.
  9. I doubt its a PSU issue (unless there's a fault.) Run a stress test and slowly increase the values in increments. PSU shouldn't be making strange noises just because you're overclocking, are you sure this isn't coil whine from the gpu?
  10. Don't understand why people buy 8 core processors if you are just using a pc for gaming. Most games don't utilise that many cores. Different story if you use your pc for video editing etc. Buy an i5, put the extra money into your gpu = Better gaming experience. Unless money is no issue of course!
  11. Sound like coil whine as stated above. Maybe just as a precaution check nothing is accidentally near the fans (loose wire etc)
  12. If money isn't an issue always go for the best I guess? I'd say the 1080ti is aimed at single card 4K though.
  13. Returned the cpu and motherboard today and ordered the 7500 today with a motherboard and 16gb of ddr4. Figured i was going to upgrade eventually anyway and I'll sell my 16gb corsair vengeance ram and old i5 anyway to get some cash back ??
  14. just 1920 x 1080. played crysis 3 earlier fine. Just been playing total war warhammer however, laggy on battles that my i5 would have no issues with.... Think it'll be a return on the weekend! Decided I'll pick up a i5 7500 on the weekend. With a fairly cheap MB itll do the job better than the amd without breaking the bank.
  15. Think ill test the CPU to make sure its still alive then order a new motherboard and return the new one when it arrives. Thanks for the heads up (Y)
