Pro tip:  There is no difference between USB 2.0 external optical drives and USB 3.0 external optical drives.  Why?  DVD reading and writing is slower than both of these USB generations.

    i only use usb 3.0 slot for the extra power feed chord it comes with, it's much more stable. i just plug the data one into the 2.0 header.
