  1. This seems a little low for Ryzen 7, especially at 4 GHz. Are all those applications running in the background as you run the test? Just for reference in this review the 1800X does 1618 in Cinebench R15: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/amd_ryzen_7_1800x_processor_review,10.html
  2. Its like that on both sides on the fence. Some people enjoy tier 8-10 because (for the most part) they can play with people that have attained some skill against people that are skilled too. Some people hate it for that reason, too competitive. So they stay at the lower tiers where play is more relaxed but at the same time a little less rewarding. I for one cannot tolerating anything below tier 7. The players are unreliable, the balancing of tanks is even more lopsided than the higher tiers, and seal clubbing just isn't that fun. Depending on your playstyle and skill really you can choose the tier that you find the most rewarding. Its a bad idea to play a tier just because its higher if its no fun.
  3. Yeah, I genuinely enjoy it, playing it currently. There really isn't an MMO anywhere that requires strategy, planning, instinct, and knowledge of such a variety of enemies as this one, and mastering (or even getting decent at it) is immensely rewarding. I fully acknowledge the game has issues, but all in all its "premium" aspects are more a matter of progression, not necessarily getting an advantage. For example, premium ammo doesn't need to be fired often, and can be bought with in-game credits, for a free to play player they are perfectly affordable when necessary. A premium account will certainly speed up advancement to tier 10, but it is still doable, and gaining tier 8-9 is quite easy without a premium account. Again, plenty of issues, but at its core this game can be quite a lot of fun, particularly when some skill is attained. Not to mention it has an excellent youtube community (Quickybaby, Lemmingrush, Desgames just to mention a few) that provide invaluable advice and entertainment related to the game. Its not for everyone, but at least check it out before you knock it
  4. Ok guys, PC has posted, Windows is now installing, case is closed! Thanks for the help
  5. He is new at this, and is working off of a Ryzen build guide video and my help over text. He forgot to plug in CPU power, so currently giving it another go with that fixed.
  6. Yes, that is correct. How would you go about with a CMOS reset? Semi-detailed steps would be best
  7. Ok, thanks guys. He has done that, but atm the PC isnt booting at all. The fans and stuff are spinning, but there is no display output, and yes he is outputting from the graphics card
  8. Do you think its worth the risk? Maybe its doing some BIOS things, I dont know
  9. So my friend built his fresh Ryzen 1600 system, and booted it but forgot to plug in the power to the GPU for the first time. Obviously, stupid mistake. But now, it wont turn off, even with a 10 second power button hold-down so he can get power to the GPU. What should he do? FYI: Specs are as follows Ryzen 5 1600 16GB DDR4 Asrock AB350 Pro4 R9 280X (He will be replacing soon) 240GB SSD
  10. Already happened. Ordered on Monday, and he gets to build it tomorrow evening. The 1070 is coming a bit later, so he's using his old R9 280X as a stopgap until the 1070 arrives
  11. ASRock AB350 Pro4 AM4 https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157761&cm_re=AB350_Pro4_AM4-_-13-157-761-_-Product
  12. Yup, he's got a 240 GB SSD as the primary drive. Thats what he's planning with the 900p moniter
  13. The FTW3 was the cheapest 1070 currently in Canada. Also RAM that high frequency is stupid expensive here, just didnt make sense. The main joke was the 900p monitor. He's going to upgrade, but for now he's sticking with 900p for a bit.
  14. So his specs are as follows: R5 1600 16 GB G-Skill 2400 MHz RAM B350 Pro GTX 1070 FTW 3 Phanteks Case ...and an old 900p monitor he's recycling pls halp
  15. No, Far Cry 4 will not work. Also any PC game made after 2012 will likely not run, and even games before then will not run well.
  16. That is for sure out of the picture as well. Any PC game made after 2012 will have a horrible time running.
  17. No, that graphics card has no hope of running GTA V, I doubt it would even launch. Since you are using a laptop, if you want to run GTA V you will either need to buy a fair recent gaming laptop, or build yourself a desktop. The GT 520m is far weaker than today's integrated graphics. My friend got the game for his laptop with modern integrated graphics, and it would not launch. So, like I said, a new PC of some sort will be required.
  18. I've noticed that with the Realbench test, running it the first time results in the image editing test to take forever to load up, and Realbench considers this extra delay as part of the score for some reason, so the first run will score significantly lower. Running it a second time without closing the program fixes this issue. I don't know if this may be a contributing factor, but it is always the best idea to test a second time after doing one run, at least in my case (benchmark is stored on HDD).
  19. Nova is an Android Launcher, kind of like a skin, but it behaves a lot more like stock Android, and will be faster and more fluid than the stuttery and bloated mess that is Touchwiz. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher&hl=en
  20. Wait until you see what the S4 has. Just 7 apps that you don't use and can't uninstall seems like a dream. I have it myself, and if you uninstall all you can uninstall, and use a launcher like Nova, it can work fairly well, but I am constantly running up to the storage limit (16gb version) so make sure you get one with a larger capacity.
  21. And keyboards apparently :'D That keyboard OC doesn't seem entirely stable, might want to dial back the multiplier on the WPM
  22. I think you mean "doesn't" on both accounts, but I'm not sure.
  23. Ok, that makes sense. But as explained in the math on the second paragraph, Cinebench doesnt seem to care. Makes me wish Gordon Mah Ung had tested some other benchmarks as well.
  24. I hadn't known that, I assumed that the clockspeed downscaled pretty linearly. What is the reason that it doesn't downscale linearly? In this case it does seem to, at least for Intel (don't know about Ryzen). My 6600K at 4.7 gets 199 CB. 199 divided by 4.7 is 42.3 CB/1 GHz. The 6700K gets 106 CB. Divide by 2.5, and you get 42 CB/1 GHz.
