If you don't care about aesthetics too much then get something like a HAF series case. My HAF 912 for my old AMD system was insanely good for that, which is kind of the point of the H.A.F acronym. Seriously good for entry level, if you can get something like a 932 though that would be better because that will swap the interior from that old school metal color to a black painted interior. If you want something that looks good then you would probably be better off with something more like a Corsair obsidian case or a 500R or something.

Is the GTX 1080 compatible with my setup?

That PSU is really going to be strained. I believe the recommendation is something like 450w or somewhere around that for the minimum, though with power delivery, sticking to the minimum is not exactly a good idea and I like to leave some headroom. -

I would see if you can get your hands on another psu and see if the issue resolves. could be that the AMD card is not getting enough power maybe? Not too sure, so see if you could just borrow one from someone. also check some pc wattage calculators online and see what wattage they recommend for a power supply.

Man my stuff feels so inferior, mainly because I havent needed to network much as all my work is done through one system anyways. Just got a crappy AP that is provided by the ISP, wired it to my stuff in my room (PC, xbox, spare disconnected for anything else needed, etc) and set up a repeater for wifi coverage on the other side of the house. No NAS/HTPC, as I dont use the living room. Also havent had a need for my VM's for running servers anyways, and a /24 network is sufficient for what I have. Gotta say it was interesting to see everyones setups!

personally I use a MSI 970A-G46. It is really cheap and supports Crossfire/SLI and has overclocking capabilities (which I do use). No complaints for the motherboard whatsoever, especially as I used it for a $700 build in April of 2013. I also personally would recommend you swap the harddrive to a seagate barracuda 2TB, which is roughly similar in pricing, it has better capacity and better reliability that WD Drives (in my personal experience owning several of both) Do you have plans to upgrade this build as you continue on? and do you have a set budget for the parts?

Why mount a radiator on the top?

I have a H60 so its mounted in the rear push pull exhaust. honestly there are pros and cons to different ways of mounting radiators, including fan configurations. its just a matter of what works best in your scenario. -

I like the audio setup it has. I like that a laptop has good volume with it (and i personally would sacrifice a bit of quality for volume too) -
I went AMD myself because I was on a budget, and planned on adding to/upgrading things later. If you are going to splurge a bunch of money on a single 780, maybe stick with a 770 and then go for a better cpu with the extra cash? I built my initial rig with $800 and i had to do a lot of add ons later on throughout about 6 months to boost performance (including upgrading gpu from 650 ti boost to 770) I would say that if you aren't going to be buying peripherals, monitor, etc. then go ahead and get a 4770k. might as well spend the few extra bucks for the performance.

you should be able to run it with adapters no problem, as far as i am aware. If the adapter exists it should work fine

Which none reference coolers are the best?

I like the gigabyte windforce cooler honestly. I find their cards are a bit cheaper most of the time, and very good at cooling. however most coolers are rather close to eachother performance wise, a lot of it is just about aesthetics. I do also believe linus has a reference cooler video on his channel. -
BenQ has some good options for 1080p monitors, they have a smaller bezel, and are relatively thin. Many of them come with pivot, swivel, tilt, and height adjustment too. However I do not know about the depth meeting your specifications without the stand. http://ncix.com/products/?sku=79926&vpn=GW2255&manufacture=BenQ&promoid=1244 the link above is a relatively cheap option and has a depth with a vesa wall mount at about 61mm. the width and height both are within your criteria. Another question about your requirements; how important is latency, color quality, and cost? Hope that helps

Finally had the cash to build a budget, and easily upgradeable computer, so I got started on it in April, and am still adding to it over time. Note the original build did not contain: - monitors - speakers - keyboard - SSD - Liquid cooler This build was fun to make. First 100% solo build that I paid for myself.
