  1. Oh shit, facepalm. I just found that out right now I guess the previous owner of this machine did the same thing i wanna do. Thanks to all that helped.
  2. It's an old Core 2 Duo E7400 machine. I want to use it as a home theatre machine. I got a deal for a Q8200 so I'm wondering if I can just swop CPU's without having to reinstall windows.
  3. IF I have a 32bit CPU installed in a mobo can I just change it and add a 64bit CPU with no problems? Do I have to reinstall windows?
  4. I do not understand what you're on about. Please link that video.
  5. Well CPU's aren't superconductors so...
  6. This topic is meant for individuals with knowledge of Physical Science. Since a CPU is made from silicon (a semi-metal) We know that the electric conductivity of semi-metals increases when their temperature increases. i.e Resistance decreases When overclocking, CPU's require more energy in order to achieve the high clock speeds. But now comes what confuses me: When we keep a CPU's temperature low we reduce it's electric conductivity thus limiting how much energy can be conducted per second. Doesn't that limit our overclocks? Doesn't that limit our overall CPU's performance? Somebody answer/correct me...
  7. How about we get through high school first huh? Then maybe we can start talking about starting a business. Don't find this offensive, based on how you made this topic I can tell that you don't know much about computers. All you know about them is stuff you learnt from youtube videos, you even mentioned "OS assistance" as something you can do. Dude that stuff can get really difficult, there is a reason why people go to university for 3/4 years just to become what you have just described. Anyways just because you like computers now doesn't mean you will like them when you're older.
  8. I doubt it's legal to have pouches of human blood in your fridge.
  9. I don't think he knew that RAM gets cleared when the PC turns off Or maybe he was playing pretend.
  10. 1080p 42% Resolutions Scale Graphics quality: Ultra Dx 12: On AA post: TAA Ambient Oc: HBAO Getting 65-75 FPS on average. It barely dips below 60
  11. Welcome to the party mate. BF1 is also maxing out my 4690k @ 4.2Ghz (I have a 1060 it's not maxing out as much my CPU is). There was another post here with someone who had a 970 with the same CPU @4.5Ghz and he was also getting 100% CPU usage. Seems like BF1 is just really CPU intensive.
  12. This is much more like it for a $1500 budget. And since you mentioned you also want to use it as a workstation, the i7 would really help out. And since there is a bit of money left you can add more storage/whatever you would like.
  13. Both emit blue light so both stress your eyes. However as an adult sitting close to the screen will cause some eyestrain (this can be seen when the words on the screen become blur for some seconds) which might eventually cause nearsightedness. So in this sense a computer screen will cause more damage. The second question is hard to answer and will depend on what you believe in. One can argue and say sitting inactive for too long will be harmful (watching TV). At the same time one can say that the wrist movement that occur when playing games are not natural movements thus it causes more damage (playing games). All of which are valid points so your just gonna have to believe in what you want to believe.
