  1. Edited this as I realized this was a comment about LTX 18! LOL!
  2. https://wccftech.com/nvidia-rtx-super-graphics-cards-msrp-leaked/ This doesn't have any news of a price drop on the vanilla cards, but if the Super variants are rumored to be at the same price but with more performance it'd be stupid not to drop the price. You may see vendors slash prices if nVidia doesn't. Otherwise, who would buy a 2080 for $799 when a 2080 SUPER is the same price?
  3. @Glenwing, you're right. This monitor doesn't support 144hz over HDMI. Found https://us.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/34882. And yeah, that link you sent. It looks like this monitor doesn't even have HDMI 1.4, or isn't implementing it to it's full potential. What a waste... Quote from your link: It seems they could have allowed it over HDMI, but chose not too. Silly... EDIT: I realize now, you are the author of that Tom's Hardware post. I didn't need to quote you... to you...
  4. That monitor is 1080p144hz. HDMI1.3 and higher can support 144hz at that resolution. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Refresh_frequency_limits_for_standard_video Full chart can be found here along with a TON of other useful information about HDMI. You'd have to go back pretty far to find a GPU without HDMI 1.4. And by that point, you wouldn't be able to push 144hz anyway. You should be fine with HDMI, just know you need to go into the NVIDIA Control Panel and manually change the refresh rate. HDMI 1.4b can actually support 1440p240hz, but only 4:2:0 Chroma sub sampling. It has full support for up to 1440p144hz though.
  5. Where were you hearing $50? All articles I've seen on Super have been mentioning the 2080 falling to somewhere between $500-600. I'm assuming that is for the FE card which right now retails for $699.
  6. From https://www.techradar.com/news/nvidia-super-rtx-cards-may-launch-in-july-to-keep-high-end-lead-on-amd Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti Super – new GPU Nvidia RTX 2080 Super – RTX 2080 Ti GPU Nvidia RTX 2070 Ti Super – new GPU Nvidia RTX 2070 Super – RTX 2080 GPU Nvidia RTX 2060 Super – RTX 2070 GPU In this article they also mention word of a June 21st reveal date.
  7. According to this article from 5 days ago (among other sources), nVidia may announce these new GPUs on Friday. I would wait personally. https://www.game-debate.com/news/27254/rumour-nvidia-to-reveal-geforce-rtx-20-super-series-on-june-21-includes-rtx-2080-ti-super And I don't know where everyone is getting this $50 rumor from. Every rumor I've heard has the price being cut by at least $100. This article is speculating the new GPU chart to look as follows: GeForce RTX 2060 - ~$299 GeForce RTX 2070 - $400-449 GeForce RTX 2060 Super -$449 GeForce RTX 2080 - $500-549 GeForce RTX 2070 Super - $499 GeForce RTX 2070 Ti Super - $599 GeForce RTX 2080 Ti - $799-$999 GeForce RTX 2080 Super - $799 GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Super - $1199 With the 2070 Super GPU using the current 2080 GPU. We might see the current cards phased out for the Super iterations.
  8. Not gonna lie, I signed up as a PC Building Workshop Teacher on Saturday and VR Experience on Sunday. I'm really looking forward to both. Also, helping set up on Friday is going to be a blast! I love demoing VR for people. Especially people who haven't played VR before. LTX is getting closer and closer and I can't wait!!!
  9. I can't even imagine what it takes to put on en event like this... I'm still down for helping out as much as you guys need. I know the volunteer page said you want people to either do one 8 or two 4 hour shifts, but I can do more than 8 hours if necessary.
  10. Are you guys planning on having a VR booth with the new Valve Index?
  11. Colton has been asking people to DM him and they can refund the ticket. It just goes back to the ticket pool and someone else can buy it. Personally, I'd rather buy it from the site than buying it 2nd hand, but that's just me...
  12. I'll also be coming in Thursday night and leaving Monday night.
  13. I also signed up to volunteer. Super excited! How long have you been in IT?
  14. No worries. And no rush. I have all my travel plans nailed down, just don't have the LTX ticket yet. I'm just SUPER excited to be heading up that way. Bringing two people with me who've already bought tickets.
