  1. I can see why you would want a fan in a different colour if you don't like the colour, but the brown/beige was something different. Now there's just more choice in black fans, something we had too many of anyways. To me it feels the same as Gigabyte's choice to go for red with their gaming mobos to appeal to a wider audience at the cost of individuality. To pull the comparison even further into darkness, It's the same reason I don't watch tv anymore: too much generic junk.
  2. Would like to watch it live some time, But without any notification or having twitch opened all the time it's rather impossible around that time of day(night). It was so much easier when twitch sent out email notifications when people went live. Why did they ever stop doing that?
  3. It was never designed to run under that kind of load for that long so the only problem is your expectation of the product. For specialised work the cheaper option is hardly ever the better option.
  4. No. Simply because there's way too many legal issues to deal with for a company this small and too many countries are excluded by default because they don't allow their inhabitants to participate in international gambling that involves stakes of monetary value.
  5. Having had countless dead HDDs in my hands I can say I know nothing of the big picture because the sample size is too small, but what I can say is that I see more relevance in how the user (ab)used it than which brand or series the dead drive is. It is easy to become blind to the whole when looking at a part, yet hard not to find the awnser you are looking for.
  6. I noticed yesterday that no matter what quality I set it always says (auto) next to my choice but doesn't change quality. Maybe a similar thing? Google taking away choice? Had no choice in google+, nor in making my real name public.
  7. Thank you for this link. Same as the OP I am looking for a new mechanical keyboard, but nowhere to try the different switches in stores. Currently using Black switches but after using them for over a year I came to the conclusion they're not suited for me because when spamming keys it starts to hurt quickly and the lack of tactile feedback is making me doubt myself more often.
  8. 4 years combined at university doing Economics and law school at same time, then moved to IT education (no idea what it would translate to english), after 2 years of acing that I had to stop because I could no longer afford it. Everything except gradeschool I have ever achieved in education is no longer valid so all i have left now is a master degree in no-life gaming.
  9. Logitech confirmed it to be a bad sample after hearing the scrollwheel on the phone and it will have to be replaced. After that I called the store where I bought it and they instantly said: it's a Logitech, take it to the store and they'll swap it for a new one. After having so many bad experiences returning stuff to stores this is a nice relief, how it should work. Starting to think it really is worth buying brand X over Y because if there is an issue that needs to be fixed X will do it better. Maybe even in combination with store A or B.
  10. So the new Logitech gaming peripherals are finaly in stores here and I ordered and recieved the G700s mouse to replace my old R.A.T. 7 I am making this post to ask you guys about your experiences with it if you have the same mouse to get an idea about what is wrong: my idea of quality or I got a bad sample. What I noticed: - When shaking it lightly there seems to be alot of stuff moving inside making noise. - All the weight is in the back giving it more friction than the front. - The scrollwheel is terribly loud and the sound it makes is hollow plastic(compared it with the video of Linus holding it up to the mic, it's not the same sound) - The scrollwheel has way too much playroom which may be the cause of the next issue - The left tilt button on the scrollwheel has a different feel and sound than the right - The G-buttons move around alot combined with again a 'moving plastic' sound - The G-buttons aren't consistent in providing feedback, sometimes I can feel the bumb and sometimes there's nothing making it feel like just aplying pressure to a non-moving surface - The mouse pointer on the screen starts moving slowly and then increases speed rapidly(desktop windows 7) with linear movement (fixed by increasing the polling rate from 500 to 1000) If you have the same mouse and don't have these issues please let me know so i can be reasured it is just a bad sample and Logitech will replace it. Else I'll just have to conclude that this is a massive 100euro disappointment and go back to using the old mouse and trying to be not bothered with it telling me it's dying every now and then.Sadly 90% of the mice out there are just way too small for my hands(palmgrip) and of the other 10% alot have some weird angle somewhere that my hand disagrees with else I wouldn't pay so much for a mouse.
  11. I think those cavemen that say functional enginering can't be Art really need to reconsider.
  12. I live in The Netherlands, but I don't think it's appropriate to name and shame the store here.
  13. I have a 360 in the top and front in my Shinobi XL and with the right fans(using Corsair sp120 qe) the restriction is barely noticable (frontpanel on vs off). Will post pics in the appropriate forums when I make the finishing touches to my build next week.
  14. When I was 19 I hit a tree with my 1st car, a Renault 5. I was paying too much attention to someone closing in fast behind me and the right front wheel got caught in a hole just next to the asfalt causing the car to jerk right towards the tree. Managed to correct it just enough to only hit it with the right side of the front, but still launched the car in the air to land on the driverside door, leaving me trapped in the car. The person speeding behind me helped me get out through the backdoor(booth) and I was brought to the hospital by ambulance. luckily I only had injuries to my left arm and my spine and neck were fine after examinations. I later went to see my car at the scrapyard to be in horror of what could have happened: a little more to the right and I could not have survived. The right side of the car was gone almost completely till the backseat and the dashboard had snapped in 2 and was sticking through the passenger seat. Good thing I wore my seatbelt which I still fasten before I drive off everytime, and I also never drive off with my passengers not wearing seatbelts.
  15. My biggest mistake was letting the store where I bought the components of my previous computer rebuild it because they could not agree that the mobo was dead. What I got back was a warped case, a poorly installed H70 with one of the fans with a corner sawed off with a blunt saw, the sidefan of the case in a box without the screws, the mobo was not screwed in at all (just hanging from the screws), both graphicscards were dead(probably rough transport) and most important of all the problem I had was still not solved(no POST). Before this the mobo has been sent in for rma 3 times already of which the 3rd time they sent it back to ASUS and they got it back with the instruction to replace it which they didn't yet claimed they did ignoring my arguement it was the same serialnumber and even the remains of the padding of the H70 backplate still on it. After 7 months of having no working gaming rig and dealing with incredible incompetent 'experts' I threatend to sue them in a letter to the CEO I got a new mobo sent the next day. Installed it, problem fixed.... ...exactly what I said to them on day 1 of the problem! This has thought me to never let any computer store 'expert' or anyone else who I can't verify as being more skilled than me even touch my computer. Linus, please migrate to The Netherlands :P or even better, clone yourself for every country.
