I've come to prefer the term "longevity" over "future proofing".
This is partly because it's a more accurate term, but mostly because of how triggered people will get when they see "future proof".

I don't like when people say "this is _____proof", because very few things actually are. Take "waterproof", that implies that the item resists any amount of water for any time, at any reasonable pressure. "Futureproof" implies that the system will perform as well in games in 5 years as it did in games at the time of building. Neither waterproof nor futureproof have many actual examples of products that are completely "proofed"
