ouch. where did you get the key from?

It came with my Windows XP installation disk.

 or you can just roll back to a higher grade OS & Just use an XP theme for the look of it.

I might, emailing Microsoft hasn't been ruled out yet.

How far do you think I'll get if I only have the key as it is an Acer Travelmate? Tried activating it too with no luck. 

Oh! this is for another system , didn't know that,  good Luck with that! i'm assuming your efforts to get it reactivated would be futile , most probably they'd ignore your request & try to push you into getting 'a better system'  , Might as well look for other ways .

Since XP is so old, you might not have problems with searching online for, shall we say, "unofficial" keys?

@Tech_Dreamer If they push me towards getting a better system, I'll just tell them I've got like 3 better systems and I want XP on this one

@OJTheAviator What's the point of doing that, if I already have official keys? Either way, I'd like to keep this legal
