Got myself some dead G.Skill Ripjaws memory.

 

2x2Gb DDR3-1333, but that's not important. What's important is that I can remove the heatspreaders for some added aesthetic on my rig since my current G.Skill NT is just like the "green stuff" except black. Going by the physical dimensions of the DIMMs, the heatspreaders should fit on perfectly.

 

Going to test it later(maybe over the weekend) and see how it fits before I fully commit to it, but so far it seems promising. Never taken RAM heatspreaders off before.

    The DIMMs themselves aren't too special, just your traditional Ripjaws heatspreader.

    I love Gskill memory, though more so for quality and performance than aesthetics

    Don't forget to get decent thermal pads :P

    I bought a set from China for some RAM I had, but ended up using something else.

    I'm just gonna reuse the pads that are already on there lol.

     

    Shouldn't cause any problems, it's not like I even really need heatspreaders for anything other than aesthetics.
