  1. It's actually a very strange number. A solid-state usually provides it's max current at the lowest possible impedance, while your amp acts more like an OTL tube amp. It shouldn't effect anything, just weird.
  2. MQS and MQA are completely unrelated. MQS is just A&K's equivalent to the Hi-Res tramp stamp, all it refers to is higher bitdepth and/or sampling rate than Red Book. MQA is something completely different, it is a proprietary bullshit lossy codec that is trying to sell itself as lossless. Another thing is that MQS appears on A&K's marketing material 2 years before MQA is even created.
  3. I don't get it? What does MQS have to do with MQA? They're completely different things. MQA is a lossy format masquerading as a "lossless Hi-Fi" format, and MQS is just Hi-Res packaged in a different form. At this point we know the Hi-Res marker is bullshit, unfortunately people haven't learned their lesson with MQA yet.
  4. I have the perfect DAP for you. https://www.aloaudio.com/shop/astell-kern-ak-380/
  5. It still means someone down the line bought that CD, which means you just gave like 10000x more revenue to the artist than a Spotify play.
  6. I practice what I preach. Streaming services are an absolute cancer to the industry, you might as well be pirating with how little money they pay. Buying CD's is a PITA, but its better than supporting cancer.
  7. Sigh...streaming services. If you really want to support artists, go buy CDs and you will get lossless guaranteed. Also won't support a service that buys into the snake oil that is MQA.
  8. FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood Benchmark Score: 12461 Extremely High 2560x1440 Maximum DirectX11 Borderless Windowed Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 I ran it a couple of days ago so no screenshot, but heres the text version.
  9. Better off getting a Fulla 2 instead, complete package versus just an amp.
  10. Shanghai M(eme)ajor, rip 2GD, rip 60hz screens.
  11. Are you in America? If you get a refund on them, I think you can afford to get a Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 on-ear, the wired version. Amazon has the on-ears for about $130.
  12. No, Razer and Apple make pretty good ones.
  13. Laptop speakers are generally so horrible, a mediocre one sounds good to most peoples books. And you can use software tricks to make them sound better than they actually are.
  14. JBL makes terrible headphones. You buy JBL's Pro Audio stuff, not their consumer crap.
  15. Well I snooped around a bit and the Amazon reviews are chock full of people complaining about durability issues, so I don't think you're alone.
  16. E40BT is bluetooth tho o_O? Could also just be shoddy build, not like I expect anything out of 50 dollar fashion on-ear headphones.
  17. Maybe instead of raging at us about it, contact JBL and see what they can do about it?
  18. It wouldn't be muted on his phone though. It just sounds like driver/wiring failure, which means he should contact support and get them fixed.
  19. You were just not getting a seal. The N40 is far from tinny, in fact I think it's pretty bloated in the midbass unless you use it with Spinfits. The treble actually has good extension on the N40 due to the hybrid design so maybe you need to get used to that? I just don't like foam tips, I think Spinfits would be a better choice for most IEMs. Foam tips just mess with how the bass sounds and blunts the treble.
  20. Anything you buy for $50 is more likely to break. EDIT: At this price point you're better off getting any random set of cheap in-ears if you're that concerned about treating them rough. The M-series below the 40x are not portable at all (long ass non-detachable cable with no folding mechanism) and most over-ears under $50 also suck.
  21. Why? The M50x is a perfectly fine portable too. It folds up nicely, it's pretty durable, and it looks okay in my book.
  22. Driver size really doesn't matter in anything except speakers. Some of the best dynamic IEMs use 8mm drivers.
  23. If you can get an ATH-LS50 or LS70 instead, that would be much better. Better built, has detachable cables, and a much more balanced sound while still keeping a slight V-shape.
