BigBig5 reacted to vanished in SSD Paging File with 2GB of RAM?
You should always have the paging file turned on, especially when you have very little RAM since in that case it may actually need to page program memory out to it.  An SSD is actually the ideal place since it will me massively faster than having it on a HDD.  Some people worry about it wearing the SSD out but the ratio of reads to writes is actually about 10:1 when using the page file, and regardless SSDs last for hundreds of TB of data written - there's no worries

from the picture above - I'd say you should use cards below the 225 W if that's the official paper, that's the save way. But i don't think it'll be a problem firing one card with one cable and two connectors - AS LONG AS they are not skys above the 225W each...
What cards are you looking at?
EDIT: AND you shouldn't overclock them. Two 970 would be fine, but instead of the 970 I'd go for a single 980ti. I won't recommend using 2 390s because 275W each. two 980tis or two 980 would be fine IMO

Yes he will use a old ATI Radeon HD 4550 or my old HD 7790. The 7790 might be a little overkill but I think supports better video playback.

Thanks and I was thinking of that too. If any overclocking it would be very little like 4.2. Plus he will be getting a be quiet! PURE ROCK CPU Cooler 150W TDP

Well I decided not go for a RAID. I got Win 7 installed and upgraded to Win 10. It's really fast.

BigBig5 reacted to Captain_WD in RAID/HDD for a NAS Box?
Hey BigBig5,   It depends on how much redundancy and how many drives you would like to have in your setup. As the guys mentioned, RAID5 is a good choice for it provides both speed boost and redundancy for 3+ drives setups. Another option is to do RAID10 with four drives for better speed and redundancy or a simple 2-drive RAID1 just for the redundancy.   WD Red are indeed good drives for that purpose as they are NAS/RAID class drives and as such have additional features in the firmware and the tuning that enable them to work smoother, safer and generally better in NAS/RAID environments. Whichever drive you choose, I would recommend getting NAS/RAID class ones for better safety and performance.    Captain_WD.

Also, do you have an M.2 slot? or are you just going to be connecting it with SATA?
