DQ-M is based off CWT GPU
DQ-M-V2L is based off CWT GPX

    I'll contact them about that.
It has OCP on minor rails, that's enough. A requirement for OCP on all rails in the methodology was a mistake, fixed.
Reivews for TPU and THW are written by the same man, Aris Mpitzopoulos.
It's the same thing, High Power is retail brand of Sirtec and Sirfa is IIRC the name of their factory.
So in one review he confirmed OTP while in another he didn't, which indicates that either it's set higher than 200°C at which point it isn't very useful anyway even if present or there are some problems with it at least on some batches, but since we don't have any more information about it sadly, we would rather treat it as it doesn't have OTP.

    Hi
    Antec zen
    Gigabyte g750h.
according to their site spec don't have OTP.
    Seasonic s12iii don't have OCP.

Their tier don't match the criteria that in the sheet.
Thank you for the time and effort.

    Yes, definitely.
We've determined that we can't trust the data of hardware.info review that has >120mV ripple, that might be either a measurement error (as they don't have a line conditioner) or one-off issue (that was an early sample). Aris have tested some of those PSUs for Cybenetics and doesn't show such values, there are very low load higher than expected ripple of 80mV tho but it isn't that critical to detier it to tier D.

Okay, even if it's recent, i'm sure you can find same types of feedback on any other brands, what matters is the ratio of bad to good feedback, what unit they were talking about specifically ? If there were some major widespread problems, high failure rate, some common problems, people would've talked about them. But it's not simple to determine if there's no problems just by looking at average user feedback anyway, i some widespread problems would come out we would make appropriate steps to warn people as it were with units in tier A- and D\E.
You're buying a PSU, right ? What else do you expect from it other than being perfect electronics-wise ? Support and warranty are absolutely secondary to the quality and performance of the unit itself, and not everyone care about that even, in some cases there are no official warranty for better known brands and buying local brand assuming it's good quality might be better choice. No idea if there's support presence of Seasonic, Corsair & EVGA in Poland, you could probably at least ship stuff to Germany for that but i pretty sure it's not that simple in Ukraine for example, not to mention Oceania where local or 'Chinese' brands like Deepcool and Chieftec would have better presence. But again, it's completely up-to users to determine what they want warranty wise. We don't tier warranty, quality of support or 'trustworthness' of brands, only quality and performance of the specific units themselves. This is not brands tier list, but PSUs tier list.

And even if we wanted to sort brands by 'trustworthness' or smth, first, it's a whole lot of more work, second, it's completely subjective, whereas we're trying to get away from any subjectiveness in this tier list by placing specific requirements for tiers, if the unit qualifies for them then it would be tiered there, it's simple and objective.

Tim Serious reacted to Swallowtail in What are the pros and cons of getting PC components shipped in from US to India.
My number one cons that would outweight every single pros is warranty issues. You're screwed if they sent you a faulty unit or if your stuff broke in only 2 weeks. And trust me that do happen sometimes.

Tim Serious reacted to LukeSavenije in Is a Seasonic 520 S12II enough for this system?
first you claim they aren't a thing, now you claim they're different?

also, that has NOTHING to do with crossloads, as that's mostly because you're loading the 12v further up with a good modern system, which makes 5v go out of spec because of group regulation of the 2

the new seasonic connect wasn't a "true" 12vo yet. and for the coming future, there would need to be some good changes in motherboards first before we would see 12vo used in the consumer market

Just as Seasonic S12II or most of EVGA units ... Most people have no idea what they're saying, they just think that if brand-name are known for some good PSUs then you can recommend any of their PSUs equally.

It's Andyson, that doesn't put much hopes in it, maybe tier B at most.
Edit: yeah, they don't claim OTP, it's no higher than tier B regardless of platform.

If newer batches of Antec Earthwatts Pro (or NeoEco maybe) are based on Focus GX\GM, i.e don't have issues previous revision, Focus FX\FM had. Thing is even if they will confirm that, there's still some chance that you'll get older stock, you can try to ask retailer maybe, what are manufacturing date of these units, smth from 2019 and up should be newer ones i guess (if Antec will confirm that but it really doesn't make sense for Seasonic to manufacture older revision so they are most likely GX\GM).

    1. We reconsidered out methodology, the issue are still there but it were on 125% overload and it's no longer contributes to tiering.
    2. It's older revisions (like 3 years old i think already) had issues with GPU shutdowns (that's why it's in tier A-, there are still a possibility that you'll get old FX v1), they should be long fixed by now assuming you get new stock.
    3. We have confirmation from Antec support that newer batches are actually Focus GX which doesn't have neither issues.
    4. This GPU isn't particularly high-transient so it would've been good even with old Focus FX v1.

Main source of coil whine are switching of VRMs themselves, so there's very little to no relation between voltage ripple and whine induced in VRM components. Although if what you hear are actually capacitors whine, it could be concerning, meaning that either capacitors are failing or there are very high ripple on the input, but usually it is in the coils\chokes.

Tim Serious reacted to Juular in [EOL] PSU Tier List rev. 14.8
    Ripple are noise, voltage noise.
It puts stress on components, namely capacitors in VRM of motherboard and GPU, so they heat-up and may fail prematurely, if ripple are very high it could make system unstable too if VRM can't rectify that.

and i'm talking about that one
    https://nl.hardware.info/artikel/9871/14/goedkope-voedingen-round-up-300-450w-vanaf-37-euro-ripple

again, this is just an expected error from Gospower, since this is their first ATX PSU. they have a design that has this fixed, but that's again due to problems in China not in production yet. this removes the semi-passive mode and fixes the ripple issues according to CM

    Yes.
Of these options i'd pick TXm. Look for Bitfenix Formula Gold too, it sometimes gets very cheap. Maybe also FSP Hydro G and SuperFlower Leadex II/III.

@Tim Serious, oh, it's not Focus, looks like smth from CWT. Nope, it's Andyson, looks very similiar to Silverstone Essential SFX.

I bought an MWE Bronze V2 650W on the 30th of December for my new build (RTX 2060, i5-9400f). I didn't have many choices, the PSU market here is very limited. A few days later I realised that I could buy a Riotoro Enigma G2 for 17 euro more (good job, me!). Furthermore, this PSU makes a quiet high pitched noise when the PC is off. I'm kind of stuck right now, as the consumer protection laws in my country don't allow me to return a product just because I don't like it, so if I would like my money back, I would need to send it in for testing, which can take up to a week or more... I really don't know what to do. Any advice would be much appreciated. (and the cherry on top is this low-load ripple issue. Great.)

in the markets I've seen it, it's barely less expensive than a CXM, which was true of the VS as well, so it's not really worth getting.

Here in India it's like 4$ less expensive than CX so not really worth it i think.

From what I've heard, it's more or less a VS with bronze efficiency, so it still falls behind the CX (still group regulated)
